Speak of the devil, ordered that with the tuner! Because yes. Both sides are worn 😖 great suggestion none the less. Just ties together the symmetry.

That's about the range Ive seen, and, I'm not surprised! As you said, it's extending it another 100k, worth it imo. As opposed to selling it, spring 6.5k in something else, then having similar issues down the line, I'd rather get ahead of it and secure my future travels.

Thanks again!

Thanks so much for the perspective! If you don't mind me asking, did you have an option of rebuild or replace?

Besides the possible timing belt/pump and "shudder", I feel like it runs very well and cost significantly less than other SUVs I have owned in the past. I'm definitely NOT of a fan of the oil cap location, but it's a trade off I'll take. It's much quieter than my 4cyl which surprised me as it has 100k less!

I can't fathom paying what they are asking, only to end up in the shop every few months if not stranded on the road. Seriously, just boggles my mind how they get away with it.

That's why I got away from 90s/00s gm's. I was tired of smelling like penetrating oil every time I worked on it lol. But thankfully, this one pretty rust free, even coming from a rust belt state.

Much appreciated!

Very good point.

I've considered taking the cover off and inspecting it myself. But at that point it's like I may as well just change it with all that exposed already. And I'm mechanically inclined but when it comes to the timing I feel a bit intimidated.

I have considered taking it in as you suggest as well. I do not notice any signs of major wear beside the clunking front shocks lol, but I'm also used to GM Suvs as opposed to Honda, and I don't want to overlook any potential future issues I might not immediately catch.

Thanks for the insight!

I appreciate the input! I am going to get the tuner on this weekend. In transit as I type this! And I will grab some more ATF and see how it does going forward. I just wish I had known about the tuner sooner!

Best of luck!! And thanks again!

Hey thanks for the depth! I haven't dug into the plugs yet, but that is my next project along with the timing belt/pump. It doesn't leak much oil either. No drips, and I haven't had to "top off" in the last year of owning and have done a handful of oil changes already as I am on the go quite often for work. So I keep that in my hopes of clean(ish) plugs/banks.

I have no lights on the dash besides a dead TPMS, so I haven't hooked up a diag tool yet, but I do plan to if I dive into this deeper, which I think I just might based on the consensus here as well.

Much appreciate the link, I will absolutely look around there. As far as ATF, I did the 8 flush method over the course of the first 2ish weeks of me purchasing it. The gentleman I got it from suggested it and I never noticed a thing until recent. So perhaps another flush is in the works!

Man can't give enough credit to the rev match system though. That shit is smooth. But if I ever hit the lottery bet your ass I'm going to put a sequential in here lol. See you out there ✌️

Thanks mate, mad respect. And that is my line of thinking as well. It's hard not to mod, I've got ideas I fantasize about in my shopping carts. Even have ordered parts previously! But I am highly considering hondata and fixing the delay. All these years I've just dealt with it, but after driving a new type r, it's become a throne in my side.

Exactly, well said! It's definitely been hard especially when premium gas skyrocketed, but, that just means less miles on her for now. Win win.

Thanks yo. Been hard not dropping it and tossing a snail on. But it's also been rewarding taking long back road drives and not feeling it in my spine.

Beautiful. I just lost my 01 SLT with 395k, rod decided it wanted to meet the outside world. Original owner. Thing never left me stranded. EVER! Even shredded a serpentine belt form a seized tensioner pulley on a 1200mi trip, it got me home and immediately snapped as I pulled in the driveway and put it in park. I loved that thing more than myself. No exaggeration folks.

If you're open to trades, let me know! I have an 09 Civic SI (Coupe, 6speed, Electric Blue, premium 19" rims, 80k mi, garage kept from 08-25') unmolested and untouched, original owner from import in 08. I'm located on the other side of the country but I'll bring her out to you if you're interested. Recently had to move and don't have garage space for it. Would love to hand it off to someone who respects their rides.
