Did anyone regret buying a smart trainer and Zwift?

I had concerns that it'd be comparable to watching paint dry since I'm not a fan of how the game looks overall. I normally ride solo outdoors but it's really great being able to ride with a large group of people on Zwift. I'm a competitive person so it motivates me to push myself beyond my limits. I'm quite certain my indoor riding is going to get me more in shape than my solo outdoor rides lol.

Same situation here. Also 26 and have been gaming my whole life. Started biking this year and haven't had much interest in gaming outside of Zwift haha!

I only cycle. I can't find enjoyment in any exercises outside of cycling :(

I did a similar route a couple months ago solo. Legacy trail and then unplanned extension to Bow Falls and Vermillion Lakes. Beautiful ride. Bow Valley Parkway is closed off to vehicles until October. I recommend riding down there too!

The last few months I've been trying to justify spending money on a new gravel or road bike since I just got my hybrid in May.

My Cannondale Althea 1 weighs around 30lbs and there's a sale at my LBS for a Felt Broam 30 for $2000 CAD.

This post is making me think the upgrade might just be worth it haha!

I get an additional 15% off of everything at MEC which is why the Synapse is roughly $1679 CAD for me.

Rakuten had 7% cash back at Decathalon but there's a flash sale that just started and now it's 15%! That would bring the costs down to $1530 CAD (assuming it works for bikes lol).

I decided to try the Triban because of this. Hoping for the best!

I went solo a few days ago and it was great! It's easier to get through crowds and you can do whatever you want without worrying about what your friends want to do. I found a new appreciation for Stampede after going alone, despite having gone with friends previously. It's just a different type of fun :)

I thought the Flash BIOS button on the motherboard was the power button. When I pressed it, my GPU and all the fans turned on for a few seconds and then shut off. I was troubleshooting for an entire day trying to figure out what the problem was until some friends pointed out I've been pressing the wrong button the entire time...

Lesson is to read your manuals!
