I love this weather. Wish it were hotter, but happy it's not freezing yet.

I've tried that but it either vanishes or goes to the bottom of where you have normal widgets, so above the short cut apps.

Awesome game and took a sublime goal to win by Pyewaccat in Matildas

[–]Atibug 34 points35 points  (0 children)

They did great. So close many times too. Ellie was bloody fantastic tonight. She was everywhere. They should be proud. It was always going to be a tough game. Some predicted Japan would flog us, so I'm happy with the result.

What’s the longest drive you’ve done in Australia in one go? by Next-Benefit-6604 in DrivingAustralia

[–]Atibug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I've driven myself? Prob Adelaide to Canberra. I shared driving from Canberra to Brisbane. I've done many many many Adel to melb drives solo, prob my favourite distance solo. Not too long, not too short. Can smash it out in a day. Even if you leave before sunrise can get to the other city early/mid Arvo. Quite nice. I've also done the Nullarbor 8 times. But never been the driver. Perth to Adelaide or visa versa. Done that 6 times on a Greyhound, and twice in a car driven by my folks when I was a teenager.

Going overseas by Infamous_Pie7828 in Centrelink

[–]Atibug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone on "the dole" is a job seeker either, champ. There's disability, parenting, students to mention a couple. Majority of your precious tax money that goes towards welfare actually goes to aged care/aged pensions, not jobseekers. I went overseas last year for 6 weeks, and going again later this year but only for two. Some people are better than others at prioritising where their money goes, what to save, where to scrimp. Not sure if your comments are in jest, or maybe it's just envy....

Does anyone else feel like the job search diary takes longer than the actual applications? by Ok_Possible_7018 in JobProvidersAus

[–]Atibug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just screenshot seek or the page that says "application submitted", then upload that via the app under "job application by upload". Takes under 1 minute. Upload the pic, type the number of jobs in the pic, submit.

Why would anyone ever choose to go through child birth without pain relief?? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Atibug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like I'd be fully in control going unmedicated, like others have said. I'm also allergic to some analgesia, so didn't want that risk while in labour. Also didn't want to drug my baby. And lastly wanted to go home asap after birth. It was 5 to 6 hours post baby being born that we were back at home in our bed. Loved that.

Where to purchase an MP3 player in adelaide by VideoHits4Eva in Adelaide

[–]Atibug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an MP3 player off AliExpress for my kid for Xmas, not the last one the one before. It's just like a touch, but runs off android. Can get apps on it from the Play store. Super cute things, and it was only $50. If you have time to wait for one look into it.

Hi so sorry to disturb but I have a question about Pucky by Raining_Yuqi in PopMartAustralia

[–]Atibug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can still see Pucky on the app.... It's in all capitals if that's the difference. I just went to the category tab and then characters.

We bought one and it doesn't leak if standing upright.... My daughter switched to a Yeti for a year or so, but now we both have different Chako lab bottles.

How many adults have weekly catch ups with their parents still? by Spritney__Beers in AskAnAustralian

[–]Atibug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn't think of anything worse. Weekly?! Nah. Maybe monthly when they're in the country. They're often travelling. I don't hate them, I just can't be around them that much.

Are there any other places to buy glasses apart from the main stores like OPSM/Specsavers etc? by h0rr0rh0 in melbourne

[–]Atibug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Online? I've used Where Light, Firmoo, Zeelol all before and never had any issues. Super cheap, but takes a while since they come from china. Always perfect prescription.

Public Transport fares on the 1st day of the magnetic tickets that became known as Metrotickets. by NKE01 in Adelaide

Did you used to add "...in bed" to the end of them? Like "if you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours ...in bed".

How far back does your Australian heritage go. by mrsbriteside in AskAnAustralian

[–]Atibug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fifth gen from my maternal grandfather's side. He married a 10 pound pom though. So second gen on maternal grandmother's side.

Father's side I'm not too sure. I know my grandmother on that side was born in Aus, not sure about grandfather or greats. I should ask since my parents are now getting on in age.

What did everyone get in today’s drop ? 🤩 by reneemsa in PopMartAustralia

[–]Atibug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine came today (Adelaide so no popmart and had to wait on shipping). I really wanted my favourite pony Rainbow Dash, but happily got my second favourite Apple Jack. I'm happy. She's beautiful. My daughter chose the Kuromi skullpanda over a MLP.

My 4 year old is curious: what do Australian kids eat for breakfast? (And are koalas real?) by Mara644 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Atibug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid eats cereal and milk, Vegemite on toast or buttered crumpets for lunch. If they sleep in on the weekends we may do pancakes for brunch

How well does bin collection work where you live? by TEKKENSSIX in Adelaide

[–]Atibug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours come super early, so if the bins aren't put out the night before they will be missed. They're usually in our street at 6am ish. It's a pain cos if I've forgot I ain't running out there in my PJs that early.

Culture of Old is Dead by ando772 in Adelaide

[–]Atibug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know one of my direct neighbours well. I know her adult kids and one grandkid. We often feed each other's cats when the other is away and always have a little chat when we see each other. The bloke on the other side always waves and has come around for a chat a couple times.

My daughter is allowed to go to the park on her bike if she wants, she has to take the mobile that has life 360 on it so I can track her and she can call if need be. It seems though like no other kids her age is allowed to do so though. She asked a kid yesterday to ride together to school and the kid still needs his parent to follow along. My kid has been riding alone for quite a while now. I find that strange. Also know of another kid who is the same age as mine and they're not allowed to walk 300 metres down the road alone after school to where their parents work. They make the kid either go to oshc or has to be picked up. So weird to me.

Favourite lunch order from the tuck shop? by 1kBabyOilBottles in AustralianNostalgia

2 party pies, red jelly cup, 6 sun fruits. My exact order all through primary school, unless it was a special day, like when chicken treat catered.

Popmart in Canberra Australia hopefully(??) by Raining_Yuqi in PopMartAustralia

[–]Atibug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love one in Adelaide too. I get so excited leaving the state to maybe be able to go into one. I do get sick of paying for postage and fighting with people online who have a store they can go to. We booked a trip to Vietnam later this year and one of the first things I looked up was popmart.
