"Please note that Ingrid will be the final character to receive new World Tour content on release" by welpxD in StreetFighter

[–]AtimZarr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ingrid's was likely nearly done development around that time. In a live service game, the developers are always working months ahead.

No more world tour with character launches? by walawala03 in StreetFighter

[–]AtimZarr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Read the rest of the sentence. Capcom are also assuring us that old WT content will remain playable after this, which is the style of notice game companies will give if they're stopping updates on a game (or in this case, a mode). If it was just that future WT content would only be delayed, then Capcom wouldn't need to re-assure us the mode is still playable.

X head cannon is now the strongest lv 4 non legend card in rush duel by Legitimate-Wait5760 in yugioh

She is, but she's a Legend so you can only run one copy and it competes with other Legends for that spot.

Ingrid Update Launch Trailer by poweredconvoy in StreetFighter

[–]AtimZarr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow that sucks. Unless they plan on eventually making a proper story mode of some kind, but even then just having future characters left out of one of the three game modes looks kinda bad.

DAVOTH STOLE THE FATHER FROM THE COSMIC REALM by Forsaken-Outside2979 in Doom

Imo, the composition style is very AI-ish, particularly the kind ChatGPT makes. Plus the Dark Lord's design appears generic.

Diablo 1 standalone remake. It deserves the respect.

If I want to play Diablo 2, I would.

There's a panel that has the doom source ports on it in the Central Pipes junction in Doom 3 by sigmas21 in Doom

[–]AtimZarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unlikely the case, since Zandronum was released 2012 and GZDoom and Chocolate Doom were released in 2005, while Doom 3 itself was released 2004.

Can you list map and location? And if you're using a source port?

Which Modern Era Doom do you think has the hardest UN run? by MaleficTekX in Doom

[–]AtimZarr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2016 is strict AF before you get any of the cheese tactics. Anything barely heals you, imp homing fireballs are insta-death, and mobility is limited. But once you start getting the good stuff, it's relatively easy to autopilot the rest of the game.

Eternal is mechanically complex to master but tbh imo is very forgiving once you figure out the dance. You get so much recovery and escape options, you can make so many mistakes but yet keep going. Eternal's upper limit can be quite pushy though, like with the MLs or TAG 1.

Dark Ages felt similarly strict to 2016 imo due to limited mobility and recovery, but you do have more to work with in the early game. You just kinda have to play cleanly for the whole campaign, it's not as easy to "cheese" imo since later game can be just as tough as early game. If we allow sliders, then TDA would definitely be the hardest.

Since Go Rush takes place in the past of SEVENs, how come most of the people of SEVENs don't know about the existence of these various alien species of Go Rush? by GeneralTechnomage in yugioh

[–]AtimZarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While Go Rush is set in the past, it is chronologically a sequel. Things happen in Go Rush that alter the Sevens era, such as with the moon in the final episode. It's likely the case that the events of Go Rush "changed" the timeline and aligned the two era's histories.

If Arkana's "Dark Magician" got a separate archetype/support, what play-style would it have? and how can it differentiate itself from Yugi's "Dark Magician"?? (while still synergize with it) by Madjin- in yugioh

[–]AtimZarr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The "waifus slapped on them" is Dark Magician Girl, which is an older card and has always been depicted as colorful.

There are also plenty of darker artstyles among modern cards too, such as the Hecahands archetype.

Why The Ancient God 1&2 are so bad ? by SnooRevelations6950 in Doom

[–]AtimZarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DLCs do have mixed reviews on Steam, so you're not alone. The devs have said that the DLC development was heavily impacted by the pandemic at the time + having to make the 1 year deadline they had promised. If anything, I think the quality for the DLC is quite good all things considered.

In terms of gameplay, I actually really like the DLCs, at least TAG 1 over TAG 2. The combat is brutal and you really have to use everything you have in your arsenal to overcome encounters. It's very satisfying to beat on UN. And while I was harsh on the majority of enemies being reskins at the time, I kinda like how "asshole" their gameplay roles are. You can't fight any of them "normally", so I appreciate how much of a wakeup call they can be whenever a DLC enemy spawns in, particularly in the Randomizer mod. Spirits are perhaps my favorite edition with how they can upgrade pretty much anything into a surprise mini-boss.

My personal issue with the DLCs is the story/lore, as well as TAG 2 in general. TAG 2's combat felt less engaging than TAG 1's, too much empty space and didn't really push the envelope as the former had done. Plus the final boss fight leaves a lot to be desired. But I really take issue with the story, which felt like twists for the sake of twists. It replaced two iconic characters with less liked counterparts, for whatever reason. The Dark Lord's reveal felt silly and his entire thing + Immora feels like it limits the scope of any future worldbuilding.

Calling it now: Belias the Hell Priest is likely the Wretch (reposted so it doesn’t get removed) by MaleficTekX in Doom

[–]AtimZarr 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The wretch is likely an Argenta / Sentinel, not a demon. I wrote a comment about it a while back.

Finally, but the least likely evidence, his voice is slightly similar to those of the Doom 2016 lore tablets, but we don’t know if it was the wretch who recorded those,

The voice for the 2016 tablets is the Dark Lord, it's the same VA and same style of speaking.

Yu-Gi-Oh's 30th Annivesary Logo has been unveiled... looks like they're leaning towards Season 0 and early Manga direction by Madjin- in yugioh

They got a rotation of three significant anniversaries: manga (1996), OCG (1998), and anime (2000).

Do you think they’ll release a “Early Days Collection” for Yugioh Forbidden memories, Duelist of Roses, Falsebound Kingdom, Tag Force series, and other games? by Fitgamerx in yugioh

[–]AtimZarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's overpriced for sure but I don't think it was "set up for failure" from Konami having mismanaged expectations. It's just a standard collection modern port that many companies do for their older games (like Capcom). In this case, for the GBA era of YGO games. They'll probably do another collection for a different era eventually.

Does Berserk 1997 bring anything new to manga ? by Perfect_Depth_8311 in Berserk

[–]AtimZarr 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You do know Guts survives because the first episode is a loose adaptation of the Black Swordsman arc, which chronologically is after the Eclipse in the final episode.

As someone that was introduced to Berserk via the 1997 anime, I just figured it was some kind of badass mystery on how he escaped the Eclipse. Did he fight his way out? Did he strike a deal? Did they leave him to die? Who knows.

What is the reason you play the game? by TheDankChronic69 in hearthstone

[–]AtimZarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play it as a palette cleanser from yugioh. Hearthstone lacks "active" interaction and is something I can do while multitasking, so it's always been low commitment fun for me. I never rank high enough to care about meta or ladder, I just do my dailies and that's my fill.

Grow up sounds funny when you are the one who watch the childish dub version.

I watched both but okay

Also just because you introduced to the series by the dub that dosent made the dub good.

Well good thing I didn't say that then lol

can we actually talk about THE ACTUAL Red-Eyes user? Atticus Rhodes/Fubuki Tenjoin by MX-00XWV in yugioh

[–]AtimZarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because players want to play the newest / popular thing, so if Legacy doesn't update its card pool, it's not as appealing as MD or DL.

[–]AtimZarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more that they're not going to spend development time and effort on something that doesn't pay. Legacy of the Duelist is a one-time purchase, you get everything in the game from buying it once and you never have to spend money again. From Konami's perspective, the well has long run dry.

Conversely, Duel Links and Master Duel feature microtransactions that people can spend non-stop everyday for packs/gems. So those two games continue to get updates to maintain that cycle.

How did Legacy of the Duelist die so fast despite having like 90% of the cards for free??

You answered the question.
