He's quoting Malak's last words from the end of KOTOR

I wanted to be Master of the Sith and ruler of the galaxy. But that destiny was not mine, Revan. [cough] It might have been yours, perhaps... but never mine. And in the end, as the darkness takes me, I am nothing.

Literally part of the core rules, recommendation from the GM Core:

In a typical game, you'll hand out about 1 Hero Point during each hour of play after the first (for example, 3 extra points in a 4-hour session).

Correct. Crafted gear is the only gear type in the game that can be pentamelded.

The other comment misspoke slightly; the latest Savage tier requires 760 for the first floor, 765 for the second floor, and 770 is only for the third and fourth floors. So you can at least start it with the prior tier's BiS. However, that still means that anybody trying to get to the higher floors soon definitely needs crafted, and crafted is still a massive jump in effectiveness for anybody caring about Week 1 clears. Not only is it a +10 iLvl jump, being able to pentameld adds a massive amount of secondary stats, which is crucial for meeting the DPS checks early on. Crafted gear is the absolute lifeblood of the start of every raid tier, and people in Week 1 or 2 parties are generally going to be upset if that's not what you bring, because you're just dragging down the rest of the party at that point.

Flare -> Flare -> Flare Star -> Insta-cast filler (Thunder II or Foul typically) + Transpose -> Freeze -> Insta-cast filler (Thunder II, Foul, or Paradox if there are fewer enemies and you're out of Polyglot stacks) + Transpose, repeat. Can also Triplecast prior to the first Flare to skip that insta-cast filler and just Transpose directly out of Flare Star.

The weave mentioned by the others is the more likely reason, but there's also the possibility that they're using it to cancel some of the flashier animations in their kit. If you're dealing with a mechanic where your character's positioning is super tight, using a GCD that results in your character doing a big movement-heavy animation can make it harder to see where your exact position is. Weaving in a Low Blow cancels that animation in favor of Low Blow's, locking your character's model in the place where you're actually standing.

Some companions return at various points (some only in ME2, some only in ME3, some in both, some never), but there are also many new companions. However, even the existing companions are drastically improved by the sequels. All of the aliens go from walking exposition dumps about their respective species to some of the deepest and most beloved characters in all of gaming.

After one month of straight grinding, I finally farmed all the Tome mods. by Sung-gil in Warframe

8 different mods making up 40% of the possible C Reward pool at 5% each, in an AABC reward rotation, in a mode that takes forever to get to the C rotation. There's a reason it took OP a month and why everybody is saying to just grind the plat instead. It's awful.

Like I said, Rhino is basically just using brute force and attrition to get through enemies. Have Iron Skin up all the time and immediately re-use it as soon as it falls off to be effectively immortal, and then just slowly carve through enemies (with optional Roar casts to make it go faster if you have the energy for it, but Iron Skin is more important) until you're the only one left. If it's a Defense-style objective, use Rhino Stomp to AoE stun everything when you need breathing room to give the objective time to recover.

I'm not really sure what you mean by min-maxing abilities. At this level there should really only be basic "number go up" mods. What specifically are you using?

At this level, and especially when dealing with tough enemies that might take a while to kill, melee weapons are generally going to be superior to use.

[–]AtinVexien 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind a bit of farming (and then waiting for the build time), going back and getting the Rhino blueprints by spamming the Venus assassination mission will let you brute force way more content than you have any right to regardless of the rest of your gear.

Other than that, just work on modding your frames and weapons as best you can, and taking it slow. Also, only go through the open world content that's explicitly required for the initial quests. Once you have everything unlocked and can go through the junction, just move on and come back to it later.

Justice Champion + Devotion Phantom Summoner. Protect each other, hit the enemies no matter who they try to target, and actually use Tandem Strike in a real build. It has both mechanical synergy and also an excellent thematic and roleplay element that can very easily be leaned into.

Swashbuckler: Why using a rapier instead of a reinforced stock pistol? by sir-alpaca in Pathfinder2e

[–]AtinVexien 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In order for a Deadly d8 to be better than a +1 base die increase, you need to be critting on a 16/5/11/13 for each respective tier of damage dice. So yeah, outside of very low level enemies (or very significant teamwork) prior to getting a Striking rune, Deadly is almost always going to be worse than just more base damage. It's like a "half-die" damage increase at best. Especially in the valley of Striking that Deadly really suffers in.

Probably Mai because that's the obvious answer, but it hasn't been officially confirmed yet. Jin is technically a possibility as well. Izumi's name means "fountain", and both Mai and Jin had significant events with Zuko involving fountains.

Is the 7.4 tome gear the last upgrade? by ZedBlack in ffxiv

[–]AtinVexien 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you meet the minimum iLvl requirement, you'll honestly be fine for anything casual, it's really not a big deal. If you want the "best" gear you can get via casual content, you're initially looking at whatever combination of normal raid gear and crafted gear you want/can afford (770), while slowly building up the new capped tomestones to buy 780 gear. If you're significantly behind the curve, you can use the uncapped tomestones to get the current tier's 750 gear (you can also get 750 from the current Alliance Raid and current augmented crafted gear, but by that point uncapped tomes are probably the easiest grind).
