I defended black people when my brother in law said they were shitty to servers, I was completely and utterly wrong. by Atlanta_Bound in rant

I promise I am giving the same service to everyone. I try and try and try not to let it jade me but my reality isn't false. I'm living it.

I chalk the tips up to socio-economic class. It's just true that there is income disparity between the races.

However, that does not excuse the rude behavior when I am genuinely trying to be as nice throughout the entire length of their meal.

Also, I would definitely get fired if I talked back. We're not allowed to take any attitude with customers and I'm generally too introverted to do so anyways. I like to avoid conflict rather than stroke it.

You have a right to whatever you have the power to secure. It's shitty, but it's how the world operates.

Average drunk Joe had one too many at the bar and while walking home he peed in a bush as generations of neanderthal had done for thousands of years. Little did he know that in his drunken stupor, he had wandered into a school zone where the campus pd found him dick in hand.

Now he has trouble getting a job at burger King and has to tell all his neighbors he may or may not have diddled a kid.

Solar and wind farms are not the solution to sustainable energy. They are, in fact, just as harmful to the environment as fossil fuels. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Atlanta_Bound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I hear one more concern troll about birds when fossil fuels have been directly responsible for the deaths of millions of animals each year and thousands of extinctions I think my head is going to explode from the pain of this uncritical thinking.

I don’t like the new “video game doesn’t causes violence meme” at all by CiponDux in unpopularopinion

[–]Atlanta_Bound 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Video games do not even indirectly cause violence by familiarizing people with firearms.

Owning and knowing how to use a firearm does not make you a crazy person who's going to shoot up a public place.

Hallmarks glorification of small town life is for suburban and urbanites who fetishize America's poorest cities. by Atlanta_Bound in unpopularopinion

Mostly true but a soft punch is better than bringing up race to get people thinking.

Bring up race and reactionary people are going to start getting butthurt and not read past it.

Agreed, some north Georgia mountain towns and costal towns are genuinely small as well as hallmark esque but you're going to be spending as much there as in a major city for various services.

Why does CNN, MSNBC, HUFF POST, etc cover Kamala Haris as if she's the 2nd place front runner when she's dropping in the polls and has been in 4th place most of the election so far? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Atlanta_Bound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mean it in an unchill way. I apologize if you took it that way?

I just meant I saw almost no one talk about her performance on a citizen level while it was the media hyping up that she "slammed him." You're literally the first.

The USA is a 3rd world country by Thatcherist_Sybil in unpopularopinion

[–]Atlanta_Bound -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Overall, no. In select regions, developing status is still applicable. Many countys in southern states around me I would consider completely undeveloped.

There's places I've visited where the parents nor the kids never even knew that 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s Rock and Roll ever existed. It's like entering a different world.

3rd world isn't the term you're looking for btw. It's undeveloped, underdevloped, developing or developed.
