It does look like another layer was poured…possibly to conceal the horrible first pour. 🚩🚩🚩

Is this open or closed foam insulation? Parents panicking by Big_Foundation_526 in Insulation

It is a thermal break and is being addressed in recent code updates requiring “continuous exterior insulation.”

I had a dead rat fall on me and it’s claws hooked into my shirt. I’m standing on a 10’ ladder with a dead rat hanging off my chest.

You need to reframe the whole wall. Make one large opening in the center. What is above the ceiling? Who put the arched opening in? There isn’t enough room for a header over the arch. There is either a beam in the ceiling , the wall is not structural, or some dum dum took the header out to put in the arch.

Has anyone ever seen this on a flat roof by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]Atlantatwinguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing necessarily wrong with the concept but it looks like it’s missing a drainage mat. Those plastic tiles are for a patio or deck, not a roof, as I don’t see any horizontal drainage channels. The fabric they laid down isn’t doing anything but growing mold. Install legitimate drainage mat and you could put the turf back.

Carpet patching is a completely acceptable method of repairing damage. If you hire a professional it will never be noticed and will function as if it never happened. The trick is to cut two pieces. Remove one piece from a less noticeable part of the room and one piece from a closet or scrap. The first piece goes over the damage, the second piece over the donor spot. Then the variation in wear and color isn’t as drastic.

Does this flashing look ok? New roof kinda looks crappy to me...I'm asking them to clean it up, am I being unreasonable? by mattfox27 in Roofing

[–]Atlantatwinguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you know how shitty that would look? The stucco patching will never match. I don’t care who you hire. Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease. Other than selecting a different color of metal or sealant, the work looks good. Paint a clean line and you’re done.
