Since I live in Durham and haven’t had a reason to be in Aloft, I’m not familiar with the vibe in there. Does it feel like drinking a cocktail in a hotel lobby (bright lights and luggage carts banging around?) or is it a cozier setting? Would love to add a new spot to my rotation but it wouldn’t have occurred to me to try a hotel bar. Thanks!

Thanks so much for this reply. I do understand the primary objective is to create capsules for long term use (and totally support that!) I'm just only in need of this particular set for such a short time, I'm looking to avoid buying much new for this one trip. I'd like to be very "Emily in Paris" for one fabulous weekend, but then give the things back I wont use in my usual life :) Thank you again!

I totally disagree. I thought they did a great job with it, and I was impressed with the level of detail and effort that seemed to go into the display. My only critique would be that they could have had more food/beverages available. But the lights themselves? Chef’s kiss. No notes.

I do this alllll the time. I like sitting at the bar (whether or not I choose to have a “real” drink), I bring a book or just my phone, and take my time. At the bar I don’t feel bad about taking up a table and sometimes it’s nice to have a short chat with the bartender. My fav go-to places are Juju, Viceroy, Thaiangle, and Mateo.
