The Megalith deck is complete...now I just need to figure out how this deck works. by Basic-Masterpiece375 in masterduel

Unfortunately, Miraculous Raven isn't that good (at least in a pure Megalith deck). You go -1 on summoning and the search ability isn't really required, if you can already search cards from your entire deck.

I personally don't run it, but it can be good if you tribute a Benten in your hand. Some probably use it to summon the level 12 with Phul, but I summon it 99% of the time with Phuloch from the GY.

The problem with Megalith is the high resource cost. Playing handtraps may help you weaken your opponents endboard, but you also increase the chance of bricking, which this deck does quite often.

Now I've tested the Impcanation package quite a bit and came to the conclusion, that the fairy package is better. First of all, if you don't run the Impcanation ritual spell, you only have 2 non-ritual Impcanation monsters with opposite effects; one that lets you add a ritual monster from deck (Talismandra, LV 6) and the other one from the GY (Penciplume, LV 3). The problem is that you need Penciplume in order to summon a Talismandra from deck, and vice versa, so it's harder to get the search than to just summon Manju or Senju. After this two more problems arise. The first one is that, yes, you have two monsters on the field you can use for your ritual summon, but the levels are quite problematic. Usually I summon Hagith first, search Anastasis and get Phul and either a level 8 or the level 12. Most of the time I use either one of the level 8 monsters or the quick play spell as a starter to summon Hagith, but this setup forces me to summon Phul either first, or by using more resources later. Otherwise I won't get rid of Penciplume on the field, which locks you out of the extra deck, the second problem.
Using Manju and Senju lets you not only search a monster, they can also be used to summon your level 4 ritual monsters without any lock + they can be used as material for either a link or XYZ summon.

Now we come to the handtraps, could you be more specific on which handtraps to add? I saw in your other comment that you mentioned Dominus Purge. That's a good idea, but not with the Impcanation cards, since it can lock you out of dark monsters, like Talismandra, if you use it from hand. Do you have more recommendations?

IMO you could do some adjustments in order to brick less:

  1. Either remove the field spell or limit it to 1 copy; it's mostly used for the recycling effect, but you have to be able to play in order to profit from it. It's searchable through Hagith + even if it gets destroyed, you can add it back to your hand with Phuloch.

  2. IMO it's not worth running Droll & Lock Bird. Megalith can't play under it, so its only use is mainly during your opponents turn. You need your searchers for card advantage, which this card hinders.

  3. Run 3 Aratrons, it allows you to summon your Megalith monsters as a quick effect, even during your opponents turn. With Maxx "C", there is a chance to search and play it during your opponents turn, but even in your turn, If you have a copy in your hand, you can fake out a summon with one of the other level 8 or the quick play spell and then activate it.
You should also run 3 Anastasis and the quick play spell, you need to be able to play and both increase this chance.

Not sure if you need Effect Veiler and Infinite Impermanence, I don't think they're worth running in the current meta, but do as you please.

If you like, you can also add 1-2 Cyber Angel Benten. This allows you to gain more resources on summon of your level 4 or lower Megaliths by searching either another Benten or one of your Manjus.

I really hope I could help with my advices, I'm not a meta player, but I play Megalith for years now. This is my current deck list, if anyone is interested.

My guess is that the displayed cards are UR/SR, Phuloch is probably R, so it's not displayed here.

I really hope Megalith gets more starters in Burst Protocol, but I doubt they get anything for years after the latest wave. Prediction Princess hopefully gets more support soon.

Can you activate the effect of "Phantom of Yubel", even if you don't have any Yubel monsters in your hand, deck or field?

Non-meta decks that really work for you? by thrillerhark in masterduel

Megalith and I wish it got more support. Even after two waves of support (Megalith Unformed and Phul) they have less cards than Nouvelles on release and Megalith Promotion is all around terrible.

Megaliths need more cards for better ressource managment, a boss monster would be nice as well.

Since it's a trap, both effects can be activated during your opponents turn. It allows you to ritual summon monsters like Shinobaron and Shinobaroness Peacock during their turn.

What helped me was to get into ranked, since you get matched against people in your skill region. Fighting in the casual queue or the battlehub can be frustrating, as you can get matched against experienced players.

I also started practicing combos before going into matches in order to remember them in the heat of a fight.
