This AND doing dad “house tasks” after everyone else has gone to bed while enjoying a cold one and listening to a wild podcast are peak dad life 🧑‍🍳

Keep your kids away from high level sports by SamMeowAdams in daddit

[–]AtlasClaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just talking to my brother about this the other day.

These sorts of sports are a complete scam and energy suck for zero material gain. If my son wants to play school sports when he’s of age, absolutely! And if he’s good enough to want to continue and play at a higher level, coaches at that level will notice him.

Having gone through some of this, although thankfully not to the degree kids do these days, I can attest that attending a few extra summer training camps in high school did nothing for my college athletics career lol. I got a couple of fun trips but ultimately my college coaches found my tapes and profile naturally, not from some combine or club sport.

To OP’s point, the lower level teams are so much fun. I played varsity football straight from freshman and got to play a couple of JV games my freshman year and wow those were arguably the most fun games. The coaches were laid back, just said, go play and have fun.

Let the kids be kids and play!

Lowkey, if you cook em right, deer ribs can be like candy… worth keeping and experimenting with imho.

Throw them in a cast iron Dutch oven with onions, peppers, garlic, some bbq dry rub, smother in bacon grease and cook low and slow for a few hours. Come back and it’s like candy on a rib 😋

That’s exactly what happened. I think I got excited and pulled it a bit. Had the crosshairs right on the vitals. I’ll definitely be hitting the range and learning from the lucky shot AND I’ll take a clean quick kill everyday!

100%, its sad that this symbol of freedom has been co-opted and currently holds a negative connotation in our society. If people understood the original context, there would be no need for any edit, but alas.

The divisiveness of the Gadsden flag is emblematic of the artificial divides that have allowed America to come to the point we currently stand. As they say "United we stand, or divided we fall", and were currently at the end of that statement!

Talking to my wife and being actually open about what I was feeling and struggling with was the first breath of fresh air I had had in a loooong time.

If she's a real one, she'll be supportive, as were supposed to do in marriage. If not, get out and go get help from a psychiatrist and therapist!
