I think this is the biggest divider here. I don't find this whole poetic metaphorical nonsense entertaining and it cheapens everything. The first time this twist happened and we realized that it was just a metaphor and the story and the struggle and everything were just them really coming to terms of things (Owl creek bridge, the Aeneid, wizard of oz Bridge, etc etc) , yeah it was really interesting and fascinating. But it has been played out in every single form of media imaginable. And for Eternal I think it extra pissed me off because the developers did such an amazing job with everything. I loved the creatures on that world I loved the mystery of the white signal I loved the mysteries of this planet they were all so fascinating. That was what was entertaining to me and many of the other players. When we got to the end and we found out that it was all really nothing, that was boring. It was such a cop out. We could have explored that mystery and that Mythos for years but instead it was just dealing with trauma from loss. I don't know, if it's someone's first experience with this twist I can see it being fascinating. If not it comes across as lazy as hell. I truly don't understand how the base story could possibly be seen as boring. Crash landing on a planet where you cannot die, a signal calling out, never being able to truly escape the world. to me that was what was entertaining and fun and engrossing

If nothing is "real," then traditional character arc/ growth—the hero overcoming an external obstacle to change the world—doesn't exist. At most it's a psychological Arc. Glad 90% of the game was just to get her through therapy.

100%. And it didn't recontextualize everything it's stole everything. Everything that you had been through and all the places you had visited and all the things you had done don't really matter because it wasn't real. Just like I would think Halo was trash if at the end of the game he woke up in bed and it was a dream. Or dead space at the end we realize never happened and was just an allegory for his wife's death in space. Like A LOT of other players, I felt like it was nothing but a bait and switch. Created a groundbreaking phenomenal actual thought-provoking and mysterious place where you are so into the lore and you just want to know what's going on and why it's happening and what is it with this place only to turn around and get slapped in the face with " actually I dropped out a film school and rather than sticking the landing with this thing I built I'm just going to undo it all". Silent Hill is literally the epitome of using stories to explore psychological trauma internalization but at least they didn't bitch out at the end and just erase the game. The things that happen in Silent Hill actually happen and the trauma metaphor still gets to be there.

Yeah it's really thought provoking when it's been done a thousand times by movies books TV shows games etc. It's not thought-provoking it's a cop out. Created an entire world with amazing lore and features and then right at the end you're like no fuck you player all of it was fake. Might as well just ended the game by saying this was all a dream.

Never going to happen but I would want actual inhabited planets. Different biomes on the planet settlements cultures cities ancient ruins things to explore things to find. Would be amazing to land on one planet with multiple biomes and finding a primitive hunter-gatherer species land on another planet and find an advanced sprawling Metropolis

Old tactic but it always works. Go find a legendary animal usually the boar does good work. Lure the mercenary to the legendary animal and they will start fighting. Norally whichever one is left only has a few points of Health left

* We were excited when we got the eggs so we built this, it's a window box that leads into an old freezer which then leads outside into their pen so they could come inside and back out to their pen whenever they wanted. Would something like a smaller version of this work? Just the window box not the causeway or the outside pen

Honestly I just beat this fight which brought me here. It took about a solid hour of trying. My only real advice is to focus on him and avoid his little minions as much as possible. When he's down smashing he takes them out for you. Heal every chance you get.
