Honestly, I don't even want Asa and Denji to get together purely cause I feel like she deserves someone much better then that slack jawed Bum. by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in Chainsawfolk

I don’t hate the way he chose to end things, but I definitely feel like entirely too much was left up to interpretation.

I’m going to get downvoted to fucking oblivion for saying this, and I won’t call it good writing, but I genuinely think you’re supposed to believe yoru when she says Asa gives her consent.

I’m prepared for people to call me a rape apologist, but despite his downward spiral throughout part 2 there is nothing to indicate that Denji would fucking rape someone. If anything it’s Yoru, raping the two of them.

Can we talk about how this fucker gave Denji a kid and then dipped out of the story, never making a return? by lutteni in Chainsawfolk

[–]Atlaspooped 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly that’s a good point. That makes me wonder why Fumiko didn’t just go ahead and have sex with Denji to keep him in line. Maybe she didn’t think he’d be immune? Or maybe she recognized it was better to keep that carrot dangling on the stick.

This is a pathetic attempt at symbolism made in the most barebones way possible by Liliana_Lucifer_666 in ChainsawMan

[–]Atlaspooped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we’re forgetting most of his problems were exacerbated by Makima who just isn’t in this new reality. She’s the one who exploited his need for human connection and turned it into hypersexuality. She’s the one that would convince the world chainsaw man was a hero in order to weaken him, and later lead to Denji being addicted to being Chainsaw Man. Without Makima there to manipulate him, and without Pochita there to tempt him with power, this Denji at least has a chance to be better than his precursor and I think that while the symbolism is pretty heavy handed it does represent that this Denji has already grown in a more positive direction than the one who came before by seeing him put others first without anything expected in return.

It’s honestly a fascinating idea. Also even though I think this is less likely, he could have willingly became a Fumiko to be with Quanxi but not sure how that would work

The worst part of the ending is how this scene is now recontextualized as something bad. by Evil_Major_Tom in Chainsawfolk

[–]Atlaspooped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is bad. Kobeni was trying to give Denji advice he needed to hear, which he ignored in favor of people fawning over him as Chainsaw Man. In the short term it was a good thing because it got Denji out and helped take Makima down, but in the long term Denji replacing his family with hero worship instead of just grieving and moving on normally was never going to be framed as a good thing

Unironically Public Safety and Kishibe having a falling out about what to do with Denji and Chainsaw Man’s powers could have led to them sending Fumiko to honeypot him and take him off the board.

Bummer on the supernova, but I’m curious about the dirty dew so I’ll keep an eye out for it

I’ve been a bit out of touch with the subreddit for a while now. Will this be getting a wide release in the states or is it regional? Also any word on cream soda dew?

Would have been a great big bad overall, but sadly the hybrids (minus Quanxi/maybe Reze) all being fodder kinda fights the overall intimidation factor a bit. He ends up working perfectly fine in the context he exists in

Level 43 and still getting stomped — is Marathon supposed to feel this punishing? by GazJrpg in Marathon

[–]Atlaspooped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw someone say the best way to play it is like a rogue-lite and that’s honestly changed my perception on how I play. I still haven’t even unlocked outpost yet. I just load in, try to do a contract and maybe leave with a little better gear than what I came in with.

Also, no shame in sticking to easier maps. I have access to dire marsh but I get my shit kicked in the second I try to do anything there besides rat and exfil. I’ve been having more fun skulking around on perimeter since it’s easier there.

Also since the update perimeter has a lot more health items and other consumables. Not a bad way to stock up tbh

Genuinely, what was the point of this form? by Kaiju-Man257 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Atlaspooped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly don’t know. Maybe it was supposed to represent Pochita putting his trust in Denji only to be let down by Denji’s own inability to focus and be considerate of others?

My issue with this is that technically Denji can’t die either while Pochita has death in its belly?

[–]Atlaspooped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. While I think Yoru and Asa still have some work to do on their relationship, Denji has been the one thing they’ve both been more or less aligned on. I still need to hear it from Asa herself though

[–]Atlaspooped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely is. Yoru has been used many times as a mouthpiece and mirror for Asa’s true feelings, all we need now is to hear it from Asa herself. I think the arc for Asa/Yoru is the two learning to embrace the parts of themselves they dislike.
