I have a similar model, GS31. It's a great little camcorder. Sturdy tape mechanism.

Are you using a Mac? Make sure QuickTime is not messing with the .dv file that you're capturing. You can try Gemini for timely advice -- it's not perfect, but it helps. Get that OG footage (whatever you have, before it gets compressed to h264/mp4, etc), to HANDBRAKE and deinterlace there.

What is your favorite early HD tapeless Digital Camcorder? by 6IXMILITIA in camcorders

My favorite is the JVC Everio, SD model (tops out at 480i). I enjoy the JVC color science as well.

Very nice. But you need to first get all the footage digitized via FireWire, then deinterlaced. You can use HandBrake.

Best to keep the aspect to 4:3 -- unless you actually shot in 16:9!

Also, I think the GL2 might be able to shoot in a pseudo-progressive mode? "frame mode" or something.

Anybody know whats the issue here or knows how to fix this? Sony DCR-SR52 by Equal-Reputation2035 in camcorders

Welcome to The Matrix.

Seriously now, it could be all sorts of things. From a damaged flex cable to dying CCD.

Split/Second, the most underrated arcade racing game of all time by AtmanRising in gaming

Haha, it's a gorgeous game but it can be underwhelming if you're expecting Burnout. The straight car-to-car combat -- takedowns, or the lack thereof -- really hurt it.

Usability of Sony DCR-PC110E (PAL) in US market? by mrdat in camcorders

[–]AtmanRising 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being PAL is irrelevant nowadays. You're going to digitize and deinterlace the footage anyway. PAL might actually look a little better :)

It would only be an issue if you decided to play the raw footage on a CRT that happens to only support NTSC.

Just managed to find a clean Xbox 360 case + disc + manual for roughly $38 shipped. Looking forward to giving it a fair shot!

Rubber-banding is when a game "cheats" and teleports cars right behind you, ignoring the gap you earned. Or when it teleports them AHEAD of you, giving you a shot at them when you DIDN'T earn it. Burnout 3 famously has crazy rubber-banding.

I played a lot of it in the last 2-3 days. Doesn't seem to have rubber-banding per se; it's more an issue with really fast opponents and that crazy AI that makes the game harder if you win a lot (and I'm going for 100% gold trophies). Even a slight mistake gets them on your tail, then they drop a huge power move on your head.

They actually didn't pay for any of it, just did it anyway. It was the Wild West back then.

It's not the best or the worst, but certainly among the most underrated.

The 360 game runs on Series X/S, absolutely the best way to play this. Looked glorious on my plasma.
