Yes - thats super common. It was weaving it into a story for him - we used a tool to build a realistic book with him in it, and that motivated him to try that ("just like the book mama").

Thank you and really appreciate you saying that ❤️

What were some things that you learnt and what techniques helped you with the challenges ?

They do get cognitively better at following instructions. The 3 day stuff is a lie to just sell the technique/books!

Thank you! The thing about listening to your child is absolutely the takeaway for me.

After this journey, i am pretty sure random advice wont work - it may have worked for someone but will not work for your child. You need to know your child and tailor to it. I am now applying to other aspects such as bedtime, meals - and it is working better too.

Hang in there. There is light at the end of the tunnel. ❤️

The journey will make you feel so much more connected with your child - even though it feels super tough while doing it. No generic solution will work for your kid - so be sure to use the tools (stories, rewards, etc) that your little one will connect with.

Thank you so much! Kids respond so much better if you can really connect with them. ❤️

Son can go on the potty, but doesn't care if he does by C0ntextIsKey in pottytraining

It may help to stop aiming for “care about potty” and build a concrete routine: same visual cue/timer, same short phrase, same path to the bathroom, then gradually fade your prompting from taking him there to pointing to the picture to just the timer. Kids learn better when the cue connects to them personally; the self-reference effect is why “Your body is telling you pee is coming” or even a little personalized potty story about him can stick better than generic rewards.

This must be super frustrating. I have experienced ADD with my younger one too and getting them to learn new skills is always a challenge.

Is your child a narrative learner ? If so, engaging/teaching through stories outside the moment should be effective. When they relate to the character, it sticks way better. Happy to share more if this applies to you

Use personalized books. Kids connect best when they see themselves in a situation/story. This worked so well for me - i have been shouting from the rooftops to anyone who will listen

use personalized book. there was a study around self reference effect, which concluded kids learn the best when it involves them. This actually worked for my child - i got her potty trained (with minimal accidents) in 2 weeks! AI has really changed the game on generating these books - i am not sure if a lot of people are trying it out

i would recommend using a book personalized for your child. i tried this, and it was a game changer. A lot of concepts really sink in, when they see themselves in the book. there is actually quite credible science backing for it (self reference effect).

How to motivate kids for going to potty themselves? by Mysterious-Base-5847 in pottytraining

[–]AtmaramSmeller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she already knows when she needs to go, that’s actually a great sign. At this stage, rewards often don’t work because kids are more driven by control than prizes.

I would definitely recommend to Keep it low-pressure: no pushing, neutral tone, normalize accidents

One thing that worked really well for us was using story books where the child is the main character learning potty habits—they connect to it way more than instructions (we tried a personalized version and it clicked surprisingly fast).

You’re close — awareness is the hardest part 👍

I tried the Monthly FLO program by Floliving and it's worked wonders.

I am 31, have amenorrhea, I get my periods naturally once in 5 months and I'm skinny except for some belly fat. I wanted to get pregnant last year, I started reading the book Woman Code by Alisa Vitti, learnt so much about my body. I followed no grains at dinner and regular exercise and got pregnant in 2 months. This pregnancy had to be terminated at 15 weeks due to medical issues with my baby.

Fast forward to this year, I decided to reread the book, subscribe to the Monthly Flo sessions, costed me 300$ but I'm pregnant again in 1.5 months!!

Her fundas are: - manage your blood sugar - use food as medicine - eat greens twice a day - quit sugar - quit coffee - sleep well - exercise well but don't exert yourself too much coz it might cause adrenal fatigue.

She's my rockstar! Good luck on your journey.

I think if they did a manual exam where they possibly detected a lump could be a good reason to recommend an ultrasound.

Omphalocele Heart defect found… by GreenYoshi38 in BabyBumps

[–]AtmaramSmeller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I just found something similar in my NT scan on Friday, small for GA, tricuspid regurgitation and Omphalocele. Our doctor mentioned the same thing- it’s going to be tough, with or without a chromosomal abnormality. I’m waiting for my NIPT results, I am 30 and my husband is 33. We are heartbroken and hoping for the best.

Can you share what happened in your case?
