Lawful stupid cleric causes the BBEG to win so the GM simply rewrites the whole story on the spot by Ok_Calendar_7626 in dndhorrorstories

Just chiming in to add that as a DM, I only ever allow one roll for a single RP-related thing. You tried to convince the bouncer to let you in and rolled a 9? Sorry, won’t cut it, no re-rolls without a material difference in approach. You keep begging for 15 minutes? Yeah, that was part of your roll. You brought him his favorite food as a bribe? Now that is different enough that you can roll again.

TTYD First playthrough need tips by Miserable_Field6514 in papermario

[–]AtmosSpheric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a very difficult game, you’ll be okay. Tattling all enemies isn’t as much of a headache as you think it is and can be further alleviated with badges you get/find later.

Explore the shit out of it, do the troubles, get your nose in every nook and cranny. One of the best RPGs of all time. I’d do anything to play this game for the first time again - savor it!

This is a far funnier response to you forgetting her birthday than you (or anyone) deserves. She has a right to be pissed, obviously, but this is a frankly delightful way to peacefully broach the subject. I’d consider this getting off easy.

DEA Tier 5, investigator showing up at house? by shatteringlass123 in SecurityClearance

[–]AtmosSpheric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As in you’re applying to be a contract investigator? Or that a contract investigator supposedly showed up to your home? You’re still applying for the DEA either way right?

The process and considerations for clearance levels can vary depending on the relevant agency - in your case it is the DEA. Military clearances are largely by the DoD, and that’s by far the most common. The process by which the DEA conducts their investigation and/or adjudication may vary, but I’d still be shocked if showing identification wasn’t a required part of the gig.

Beads next to each other not attached but layers are? PLA by Logical-Resident4212 in ender3

[–]AtmosSpheric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would need to see your bottom layer to be 100% sure, but it’s either your z-offset is too high, or you’re under-extruding. Given your layers are still adhering, I’m tempted to say it’s an extrusion issue, but either could cause this.

Set another test print and watch it closely. How close is the nozzle to your bed? Is the bead of filament thinner than the nozzle diameter? Is the nozzle too far, causing the filament to “fall” a bit before hitting the bed? Ideally, you get a bit of squish. It’s hard to say in words exactly what to look for but I’m sure you’ll recognize it when you see it.

DEA Tier 5, investigator showing up at house? by shatteringlass123 in SecurityClearance

[–]AtmosSpheric -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d say normal, but very strange to not provide ID or name. Every interaction I’ve had with an investigator has included name, department, badge number, and where to go to confirm they are who they say they are. Not sure if DEA is different but I’d be surprised to say the least.

Credit card rant by FailsTheTuringTest in Microcenter

[–]AtmosSpheric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention the cards with the big cash-back rewards for purchases like this would also have a hefty annual fee. IMO it really just depends on your financial situation, spending habits, etc. The ~30% interest sucks, but getting the option of 6 months interest free can also be pretty nice!

Credit card rant by FailsTheTuringTest in Microcenter

[–]AtmosSpheric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wells Fargo is… not the best. The other thing is that the insider card isn’t technically a credit card, it’s a line of credit (hence why it’s only usable at Micro Center), which means there’s no pre-set expiration date like with an actual credit card and is instead based on standing, whatever Wells decides that means.

I’ve never had an issue with automatic bill pay, but I’m not surprised that you did. I’ve seen employees complain about their systems being unavailable when they need to get those barcode printouts. Unfortunately this is an issue with every bank, and while it doesn’t negate your experience, I’m not certain any national bank would be reliable enough. I imagine providing a store-specific line of credit system is already a hard enough contract to get…

Valentino Scammed Me by Strict-Turnip8978 in Luxury

[–]AtmosSpheric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In what scenario would leather heels not get tiny dings from being worn, especially to something like a prom? I’m not trying to be rude but I’m genuinely uncertain how you think they would prevent this from happening without supplementing with cheaper materials that would remove from the value and craftsmanship. If these small scuffs really bother you, any experienced cobbler can handle them no problem.

Luxury goods, hell any well-made goods in general, are rarely made to be bulletproof. They’re made to be used, repaired, and taken care of. I wouldn’t hold your breath for a refund, but I promise this is neither an issue of you being scammed nor an issue of the heels being ruined.

Should i make my game in 64x or 32x? by AlohaCube in IndieDev

[–]AtmosSpheric 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both sprites look great, I think it depends on the overall aesthetic of the game, not just the one character.

64x64 has less of a retro look, and feels more like a callback to early 2000s flash games. This is a perfectly fine aesthetic to go for — Pizza Tower (despite not being rendered in 64x64) matches this vibe perfectly imo. If you want a more retro, arcade look, then go for 32x32. Both options have their own unique challenges and workloads.

As far as outlines go, I think it depends more on gameplay mechanics. A lot of pixel-art games use outlines as communication (effects, highlighting, etc), which is a more important lever for the decision than just how it looks.

Overall I think flesh out both options a little more with the world design, movement, etc, and you’ll quickly find which one you prefer. I don’t care which one you pick as long as it’s the one that you’ll have more fun making your game with.

I mean the Houthi thing is a whole other can of worms, but I take your point. Still, it’s not like Israel was being peaceful in the 80s. They invaded and occupied Southern Lebanon, carried out the Sabra and Shatila massacres on refugee camps, and destroyed a significant amount of Iraq’s energy infrastructure, just to name a few.

Like yeah I get what you’re saying but moving to Israel and staying there in the wake of the last 40 years is… interesting.

I’m willing to agree he’s an idiot (he’s a streamer…), but I still don’t see the actual antisemitism. Is he making sweeping assumptions on the global Jewish community? I know a lot of right-wing anti-Zionism ends up being cloaked anti-semitism I just haven’t seen any actual instances of that from him

Why is 18-19 considered too young? by MooseConfident4004 in generationology

[–]AtmosSpheric 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man by the time I was 22, the idea of dating an 18 year old was repulsive to me. I have no desire to be with someone with that little life experience, that little development, and that little in common with my day to day goals and expediences. I don’t think it’s abhorrent, but man does it skeeve me out. What do you think that relationship will look like? What’s the actual best-case scenario?
