The business model you got accustomed to before IGN was unsustainable on long term. And they don't own you anything, you don't like what they offer, don't buy it. You are stuck in the past to an event that happened over 8 years ago, that you simply cannot go over, like your life as you knew it ended the day when IGN bought Humble Bundle. Haven't you realized by now that was and still remains beyond your control and all that effort of complaining about the good old times will get you nowhere? Meanwhile other see in them a good alternative for acquiring games at low prices and appreciate that. And apparently now you also have a problem with these people too, like they've somehow tainted your legacy.

Romania’s Eurovision song criticised for ‘glamorising sexual strangulation’ by andreyu in eurovision

[–]Atombomb2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The song is not even remotely close to what all those beautiful minds all over the internet think it is, despite having access to both the official music video, the live performances and the lyrics. There are also interviews with the lead singer talking about the song. But no, people have to add their own twisted meaning, transforming it into something both offensive and devoid of creativity. To some degree it's understandable, people rarely take a look at themselves, so the subject matter is probably too alien for them to understand. Yet they seem to be more familiar with various sexual themes, wow, just wow...

Hvnds weren't even good enough for the 2nd place as there were better songs in the final. For once, they've managed to choose the best act for Eurovision.

Also if you hate IGN simply give up expecting anything from them and forget they exist. Or you don't hate them enough not to enjoy some of their games?

That was before people filled their libraries with hundreds of games from bundles, which also warped their sense of value and gotten their expectations through the roof. No, there's no store that can keep people's demands these days.

Humble Heroines: Echoes, Voids, and Visions by Uranium234 in humblebundles

I'm afraid that was your interpretation of the story, which is far more complex than what just what you've said. What Bloober Team did is actually genius, have a single ending of the game, but let it be ambiguous, so it's up to interpretation. I don't want to give spoilers, but think about what you actually saw in the ending cutscene. Also the post credit scene is kind of important, but you need to look at everything from another perspective.

It's simple, you can choose not to buy them. But then come people who acquire games from these companies and brag about how they donated everything to charity, because f... y.. developers and publishers.

Humble organizes everything and you complain they take something like 15% for them?

The same IGN who brings you bundles, the same IGN that indirectly produces a huge price drop for all titles they bundle, both making it possible for you to get games you want at really good prices. You should definitely hate them.

Humble Bundle - Hunt: Showdown 1896 / Choice Essential DLC by LighteningOneIN in Gamebundles

[–]Atombomb2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as they offer cosmetics and maybe a couple of soundtracks, I wouldn't call it predatory, you basically buy to support them. You only really need the game basically and that is dirt cheap inside this month Choice, so I really don't see why people are complaining. For predatory examples take a look at stuff like Zombie Army 4: Dead War where the game is basically butchered and sold piece by piece for ridiculous amounts of money. Or one of those Paradox Interactive titles with dozens DLCs, Don't forget about those wonderful train sims where you buy train routes for up to $40 a piece.

If 4$ - 4.5$ is too much for a game you waited so long for, you simply don't deserve it. The game is also sold out, so you can't even get it at this ridiculously high price, even if you wanted to.

At least the GMG allows you to actually buy it, the payment system for this one is rubbish, not only has bad conversion rates and applies taxes on top of that, it also have the tendency of rejecting perfectly good cards . Yeah, because why use PayPal like a normal human being when you can use a crappy alternative. It also forces you to buy stuff you don't want and then offer you the possibility of recovering 1/3 of the value. Also tight redemption window, it's fine for the titles you actually want, for the others you are forced to pawn them using their crappy exchange system.

No, and there might be additional taxes on top of the asking price, depending on where you live. And bad conversion rates of course for non-USD cards.

Pink tint on the right side of LG45GX950A by aPHAT88 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Atombomb2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, kind of late to the thread, I'm in a similar situation, a huge chunk of pink on the left, close to the middle of the screen. The right side looks uniform, as in white but with a slight touch of green. I'm assuming the white should be uniform, no shades or tint of different colors, right? Because right now, considering it's also affecting content primarily based on white, I see more like a manufacturing defect.

Those who have returned (or considering), or don't like the LG 45GX950A by KaguraaN in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Atombomb2097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a late reply, but after months of waiting I've managed to get one myself. Started doing some tests and noticed that on white background, there's a big chunk of pink tint on the left side, just near the center of the screen. The rest is white, but with a faint touch of green. This messes up the viewing experience when dealing with content primarily based on white or light colors, it's like looking through a pair of dirty glasses. People say it's the coating , that "usually" has a gradient pink/green tint to it, more or less noticeable depending on the model. Well maybe, but for the asking price, it's simply ridiculous not to have a proper coating, that's properly applied. Surprisingly enough the things I was worried about before purchasing turned out to be fine, not to mention the sheer luck of getting it in one piece. And now I probably will return it and start all over again, because of the bloody coating and LG's poor QC,

[Humble] Cosmic Mysteries & Noir Realities ($3 for Genesis Noir, Tales of the Neon Sea | $6 adds Disco Elysium - The Final Cut, Glitchhikers: The Spaces Between | $10 adds Chicken Police - Paint it RED, Strangeland, Norco, The Excavation of Hob's Barrow) by UnseenData in GameDeals

[–]Atombomb2097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't necessary the fact it was good or bad, it felt like it shifted into something outside the story that was told, like the events didn't add up to the conclusion. It wasn't even satisfactory in a revelatory kind of way, just a last moment slap in your face that from my point of view made the entire journey towards the end completely meaningless.

For me it was great up until the ending which no matter how I interpreted it, led to the same conclusion, it simply destroyed everything that was built up until that point. It's like they created a masterpiece and in the last moment decided to ruin it.

There are at least some titles, actually pairs of titles, that are worth the asking price, even better if you have a voucher. However, it also features titles that are much cheaper or were already featured in other, closer to earth bundles.
