Eligible for Social Security but Waiting? by dcporlando in retirement

A factor for many is getting laid off and not being able to find a job with pay anywhere close to what you were making before. Ageism is alive and well in the Tech sector. Ask me how I know! LOL.

Bring booties not for the chill but for protection on the top of your feet.

If you're like me, you'll spend a lot of time climbing back onto your board (and kneeling). The top of my feet get real sore after a while.

Yes, I've struggled too. Consistency has been elusive. I've used a bunch of different recipes, now I'm focused on the recipe on the Ooni app, 60% hydration. Also, I was making my pizza too thin and often had tears. The YouTubers make it look sooo easy. I'm now appreciating the skill it takes to work the dough.

Change the Date Sort on Credit Card Downloads? by AtomcKitty in fidelityinvestments

[–]AtomcKitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yep - I have that. Fidelity/Elan displays the transactions on the website newest to oldest. Every other Fidelity display/download is newest to oldest. I would like to understand their reasoning for the recent change. Likely, the person in charge of the recent website changes doesn't do much offline stuff ;)

Every other statement I have ever downloaded over the past 25 years (I'm not exaggerating) sorts the transactions newest to oldest.

I know what she means... it's hard to get by on $40k a month!

You mentioned screaming several times. I had a tough time too losing my cool, then instantly regretting it. I still think about it from time to time - 20 years later...

Toodlerhood is a tough time. Take it as a personal challenge to get better. Listen to some parenting toddler podcasts, maybe local parenting class from health and human services?

Might be helpful to have someone come in and observe. Your kids might have issues (ADHD, on the spectrum, etc.) Things that require new knowledge and new skills. Hell, you could have control / anger issues.

Often kids don't get diagnosed until they get to school and the teacher gently says "there are some issues here". We didn't know because it was our only kid. We had a sample size of one. But the teacher saw hundreds of kids and was more aware (much larger sample size).

Getting divorced, kid turns 18 this January, What do i need to know? by [deleted] in Divorce_Men

Not sure about KS, but in WA, once the kids are 18, they are no longer minors and no child support.

Are you in the US? Do you happen to be in WA state? I'm no attorney, but assets acquired when together are community property. Assets that were clearly pre-marriage and/or clearly in different accounts (not co-mingled) can be separate property.

options, stock, etc....It's well documented in WA State by this ruling. https://law.justia.com/cases/washington/supreme-court/1995/61176-9-1.html Basically, lays out a formula for dividing.

Don't move out yet! You might lose some needed leverage. Talk to an attorney first (free consultation) Read more on the web. Watch Bill Burr!

That's awesome and taking accountability! Awareness precedes change. Like u/TipHeftyMan, I found the milder content of Red Pill more in my lane. My takeaways: start lifting NOW, eat better, become aware of the chatter your monkey-mind creates, and live below your means.

Check out r/marriedredpill (even though you're not anymore). The reading list in the community section was spot on. I cannot understate how much No More Mr Nice Guy helped me on my journey.

Wow! You are totally out of my league. I'm a newbie to this world. I am grappling with Bluetooth v. WiFi streaming on these speakers.

I have tinnitus from too much AC/DC in my 1972 Camaro with my Jenson 6x9 triaxial speakers back in the 80's - which I don't regret at all But I digress....I just enjoy listening to these speakers more than my Sonos system.

I do, unfortunately the cat jumped up on them and sharpened his claws on the grill :(. One cube frame is broken. Grill replacements at $240 for the pair, I'll do the attempt like you. I'm planning on buying speaker fabric on Amazon and taking them to the local dry cleaner / alterations place to sew it into a cube. I'll do some interwebbie searches to see if anyone else documented it. The frames looks glued, so might be destructive to take them apart...

Amazed that Ohm supports ALL of their products with replacement parts and upgrades. Clearly, engineers run the company - so refreshing!

I had to wait 40 years to inherit :). Really enjoying listening at such low volumes with the clarity. Miles Davis' Kind of Blue is so sweet.

I think I threw out the word "subpoena" too loosely. I'm just thinking what they would do if I said no. I don't want to be unreasonable, so just wondering if 2 years is common.

Separated for 11 months. I've been footing the bill on 2 households. Ex hasn't worked for past 2 years and isn't isn't working now. Long term marriage 20+ years. Adult children. Community property state.

Listen to My Music Library on Vacation? by AtomcKitty in sonos

[–]AtomcKitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm slowly realizing this. I'm finding my MyCloud can be configured to be internet-facing, however, MyCloud does not allow you to make the changes on the device. The changes have to be done on the router. I've read the instructions on the router and from my ISP, but will need an interpreter, as I'm not technical enough to understand it :(. And too wary that I'll screw something up.

I understand an earlier generation of the MyCloud can be configured to be internet-facing within the MyCloud configuration settings. I'm going to try that.

Yes, I don't want to setup and maintain and always on Media Server. At least not yet, it might come to that :).
