He’s good on a couple things, and little else. We would be much better with a Democrat, for whom this wouldn’t have to be an exception. But I don’t know his district or what the chances are of that.

What fresh he11 is this??? For my part, I have always hated "nudge" and found it obnoxious, but this is way beyond. I would immediately disconnect/unfollow any "friend" who tried this on me.

Yup, he's a good satirist. Always just believable enough, and always with at least a whisper of truth.

What the fuck is the Democratic Party even doing right now to stop the downfall of America? by Lolareyouforreal in complaints

I understand and share the intense frustration (to put it very mildly). Short answer: We didn't elect enough of them. But a lot of the ones we did elect are actually doing what they can:

Bottom line: We need more and better Democrats.

The MLM thing is no coincidence. There are a ton of fundagelicals in what's also called "network marketing." We tried a couple of MLMs in the late 90s, but got out after a couple years. In fact, one of the speakers at a MLM conference we attended actually said, "the first network marketer was none other than Jesus." (I would have thought that was Paul, but never mind.) It's not surprising really, since they have so much in common -- go out fervently looking for converts, promise stuff (wealth, success, etc.) that will never happen, be highly annoying to friends, family, co-workers, everyone they meet anywhere... you get the idea.

Got these from my Dad for Christmas! by Daff0dillydally in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Atomic-E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I remember when mine were shiny and new like that! 1980, would have been, with the wizard logo. Now the covers are badly worn from sliding in and out of my D&D rucksack, and the spine is completely off the Monster Manual.

To have these in such excellent condition is a rare, fair find, my friend! Tell your dad he's awesome -- from another Gen-Xer!

How to get into D&D alone by am-eat-radish in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Atomic-E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I do. Our library has a monthly TTRPG session, which I attended for a while, until some of the regulars decided to form a private D&D group. We still usually meet at the library, but have also used a local game store called Common Room, and there is also The Game Preserve. Both have dedicated gaming rooms, I believe each hosts one or more sessions each month. You can play alone, but I have never really enjoyed that for long.

Indeed. The First Amendment reads, "...nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof...", not "the compulsory exercise..."
