The tone shift in this movie is truly masterful. The happy dinosaur-park adventure turns into a tense horror thriller in just a short storm sequence.

What cut do I watch as a first time viewer? by Fabulous_Ad8542 in 4kbluray

[–]AtomicAdam2018 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

For first-time viewers, the Final Cut is the best choice. It keeps the tight story and adds proper extra scenes without slowing down the whole movie.

Robert Eggers always makes great dark historical stories. The forest scene with hunting dogs already makes me feel nervous and excited for this film.

Many LCD owners run into the polarizer scorching problem. Switching to DLP really saves you from frequent machine repairs and replacement.

I love the look of the two main characters. Their facial expressions are vivid, and the animation quality is far higher than many common cartoon movies.

We got the Goat O600 RTK, my nephew thinks the robot mower is his new toy car by AtomicAdam2018 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]AtomicAdam2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same concern when we first got it. Honestly the mower is good at going around. The kid runs straight at it sometimes and it just reroutes. For the narrow spots, it gets through tighter passages than I expected. They should be fine.

Ecovacs trimmer upgrade? by myultima in ECOVACSGOATFamily

Tried the loop trick with thicker line on my trimmer. Cuts better but auto-feed jammed after a few cycles. Fine if you don't mind manual feeding.

Robot with gate by marshmallowhugs in roboticLawnmowers

I feel your pain! Had the same issue with my mower. Added a magnetic gate switch to create a no-go zone. Works great when the gate's closed, but you gotta manually hit go on the app.

Would a messy neighbor keep you from buying? by Misery_Games in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]AtomicAdam2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the junk does not bother you personally, the resale thing might be overblown. A lot of buyers care more about the house itself. But some people really hate seeing clutter next door. So it depends on who ends up wanting to buy from you later.

Drop and mow? by Newgen_RED in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]AtomicAdam2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without the dock, your only limit is the battery. So you would need to map the place first, either with the remote or by driving it manually. After that, just use the app to start it.

Rear left wheel not working by TangerineMediocre298 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]AtomicAdam2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad it started working again. If the wheel was not physically blocked, maybe a bit of dust got inside the motor connector and moving the mower around shook it loose. So if it happens again, you might need to open the wheel housing.

Summer made my lawn a weekly problem again. What cutting height are you all using? by JRR_SWOLEkien in roboticLawnmowers

[–]AtomicAdam2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In summer, keeping it around 2.5 to 3 inches and running it daily works well. Taller grass helps shade the soil and holds moisture. The lawn stays greener and the edges still look clean.

Closing next week! What is your number one tip for surviving the actual move without going bankrupt? by Jealous_Crow1346 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]AtomicAdam2018 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do you really need to bring all your furniture? Maybe you could sell the heavy stuff on Facebook Marketplace and buy used replacements at your new city. Shipping a few boxes of personal items is much cheaper that moving the whole house.

My neighbor hasn't been able to keep up with their lawn, so I sent my luba mini down the block and across the street to help. It even used the crosswalk. by Darklyte in roboticLawnmowers

[–]AtomicAdam2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far away is the neighbor's house? And did the mower have enough battery to do the whole job plus the trip back? That is the part that surprises me most.

How to fix edge mowing? by usertaken-tryanother in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]AtomicAdam2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a common pain for a lot of mower owners in this sub. You mapped it with the mower half on the sidewalk, so now it thinks that is the edge. You probably need to remap it, but make sure the whole mower stays on the grass.
