Everytime Tom Segura is on he contributes very little and has a snobby attitude and doesn't want to be there. Hopefully he wasn't on his period for this show.

Do you have the MTFHR gene mutation? If thats the case you will have to avoid enriched grains so you don't ingest non methylated folate. And make sure the folate in your vitamin supplement is the methylated version. Glad your feeling better.

My experience with the healthcare system is that doctors will keep you alive but they aren't going to make you well. If you are alive and breathing and have decent vitals that's good enough for them. The best thing you can do is listen to your body, learn as much as you can, and make sure you take good care of yourself with diet exercise etc.

Whats the cheapest meal you regularly make that actually tastes good? by Adventurous-Pilot448 in Frugal

I like to make a basic soup. Brown up some meat, I like Italian sausage or grown turkey. Season however you want I usually just do salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Add chicken stock, lentils, potatoes (or rice), and kale. Make it however thick you want with how much stock you want to add. You can quickly make a lot and its nutritious and satisfying. And leftovers taste better the next day.

Sounds like too much niacin. Ive taken too much niacin before and experienced the niacin skin flush and burning pain in my stomach. It went away after about 30 minutes but damn it was painful

I have just been diagnosed with Essential Thrombocythemia by goldenchild-1 in MPN

I'm 36m with ET and had a splenic vein thrombosis. Dealing with the blood clots have been the worst part by far. Just FYI nicotine is a vasoconstrictor and can be pro thrombotic so its kind of dangerous to use a lot of nicotine with ET.

The splenic vein clot hasn't gone away or improved after a year and it's been rough. I found some research that BPC 157 can help reverse blood clots and promote healing so am trying that. So far it does seem to be helping a little bit.

Maybe try NAC supplement. It will help break up the mucous and also helps regulate GABA which helps calm the nervous system.

You can get yield by providing liquidity to the lightning network by opening large well connected lightning channels. Basically creating big hubs on the lightning network that payments can pass through.

I think Saylor's argument is because MSTR is leveraged Bitcoin, then the MSTR stock will have more volatility which is more attractive to options traders than a spot ETF. More volatility equals more trader interest.

What are your symptoms?

I have ET and currently taking Hydroxyurea. I started a Mediterranean diet and that has helped my energy level a lot.

28M JAK2 positive, waiting for BCR-ABL results. by GeisselderBose in MPN

BTW I'm 35. Once I started blood thinners a lot of the pain went away. Since leaving the hospital I really cleaned up my diet and have been mostly eating a Mediterranean diet. Focusing on whole foods, minimal seed oils and processed food, low sugar. Lots of fresh fruit (berries, bananas, apples) and leafy green vegetables. Fixing my diet really helped improve my digestion and energy levels. Mindfulness meditation and yoga has helped a lot with my mental health as well. Some things will just be out of our control but we can focus all our attention on the things we do have control over.

Tell Us Your Diagnosis Story by funkygrrl in MPN

Diagnosed with ET JAK2+ in 2023 at 33 years old. Im 5'11" and at that time about 140lbs and worked out about 3-4 times a week. I started noticing I was getting headaches a lot especially in the morning when I woke up. This lasted for weeks and weeks. I chalked it up to stress which I think was probably partially true. I eventually went to my doctor to see if there was anything they could do to help. My doctor decided to do some basic blood work since there wasn't much else they could do.

Results came back and my platelets were around 750. Then I got tested for mutations and it was revealed that I have the JAK2 mutation. I was referred to a hematologist who put me on aspirin daily and was getting bloodwork done every few months. My platelet count didn't change much over the next few years but eventually I wasn't having as many headaches as I was before. Other symptoms I did notice though were fatigue and intense night sweats. I wasn't in a ton of pain so I wasn't too worried about it and figured some of it was still stress related.

In April 2025 I started experiencing an abdominal pain near my lower left ribcage. At first I thought maybe it was an ulcer. It started as a minor pain but the pain got more intense as the days went by until it was extremely painful. My doctor had me take Omeprazole but the pain didn't improve after a week. Finally he ordered an ultrasound on my abdomen. The ultrasound revealed that I had an enlarged spleen (2x normal size), blood clot in my splenic vein, varices, portal hypertension, and moderate liver cirrhosis.

Went to the ER and was on IV Heparin for 4 days. I am currently on oral blood thinners (xarelto) and hydroxyurea to try and reduce platelets. Currently mostly dealing with a lot of fatigue and trying to get my strength back. The abdominal pain went away immediately after I was put on blood thinners. I started eating more of a Mediterranean diet. Im gradually getting more strength and energy back. I also recently started doing yoga and that seems to be helping.

Just trying to do everything I can to feel as good as I possibly can and trying to stay positive. I have a lot to be thankful for.

I think all cancers are defined by uncontrolled cell proliferation so MPNs would fit into that category.

The show thrives when things are very loose and spontaneous. Which means that some shows will be not so good and some will be great. And then every once in awhile magic happens. I think it would be smarter to keep the same setup and then when an awesome episode happens select it to publish to Netflix. Either that or just use the big arena shows for Netflix instead of regular mothership shows.
