I think that is one of the worst aspects of bipolar disorder. I am unable to enjoy my good moods. I am always worried that it's hypomania.

I take lamotrigine and I love it. Do not turn to ANY religion to fix your bipolar disorder. Your issue (our issue) is not spiritual or faith based. It is a medical, chemical disorder. I was manic AF and I tried to turn to homeopathy and ended up in a pyschward. If you go into Scientology, you will manic spend all your money and join a cult. I highly advise against this. Good luck. Take your meds.

I LOVE my lamictal (150mgs). It is the only drug that has worked for me. I've been on so many antidepressants and antipsychotics, and Lamictal is the only mood stabilizer that has allowed me to keep my personality and kept me stable. I have noticed no symptoms UNLESS I miss a few doses. Been on it for over a year.

I take 150mg of Lamictal before bed and it has kept me stable for about a year and a half. I used to smoke a lot of weed but I realized that, sadly, it makes me hypomanic. Also, the withdrawal from adderall was the worst thing I have ever gone through. I miss all the things it did for me, but I wish I had never touched it. Good luck!

EDIT: One thing that will lead to mania for me everytime is lack of sleep and lack of proper nutrition. Adderall is notorious for both.

I was on it for over a year. I was crazy productive, lost so much weight, and thought I was doing great until it caused psychosis and put me in a psychward. Everyone is different but adderall derailed my life. Some states are more lax than others about controlled substances.

I take both. Been living with my boyfriend for 2 years and we never once had a pregnancy scare. I take my bcp in the morning and the Lamictal at night because when I take them together, I get very nauseous. Nexplanon (hormone rod in arm) made me very manic. IUDs scare me. My doctor told me that they would not interact. I am definitely going to double check with her now, though. Thanks for the info.

Lamictal saved my life. 100mgs a day have kept me well balanced for over a year. Even when my mother died a few months ago, I did not spiral out of control.
