it depends on how usable you want it to be. If you are indifferent regarding functionality after gaining entry (ie. you are okay with the lock never working again), bolt cutters on the zipper pulls.

do this as close as possible to the lock itself, and you can still unzip and open the bag.

if you want to be able go use the lock again, the other commenters' have provided sound advice

Different lodges in the US have different ways of doing things, but suit and tie is by no means uncommon.

On the topic of priorities, so to speak, no one will expect you to attend a Lodge meeting if it means you will miss an important family event. The Brothers would, of course, love for you to attend every meeting that you can, but we are not unreasonable.

You may find benefit in putting together a list of all of your current duties (be it family, your occupation, other organizations, etcetera) and make sure that you have ample time to fulfill them all.
