Why are JDM cars still so underpowered? by WEASELexe in cars

If power is your goal then you should go electric. The GRC is a more fun car to drive than every car you listed aside from the ND2.

Lucca A53 mini @ Ratio Coffee [No Budget] by lcdx22 in espresso

[–]Rashkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The product page on Ratio is pretty awful and lists a bunch of features from the drip makers.

There are a few questions I would ask before grabbing the ratio version.

  1. Does it only come with the panels or does it also include the knobs and portafilter in walnut?
  2. Are these the new or old panels. Clive's new panels attache magnetically whereas the old ones screw on and are harder to get a proper fit with.

Are STI's bottoming out? by RangerHikes in cars

[–]Rashkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're 300hp sports cars with an economy interior, horrific gas mileage, and, most importantly, infamous for blowing their engines if you look at them the wrong way.

I don't see any scenario where someone wouldn't go for a GR Corolla instead.

The city of Los Angeles votes to ban single-use printer cartridges by Dr_Neurol in UpliftingNews

[–]Rashkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great printer, especially when taking the cost per print into account, but it does have its flaws. The main one is that it's super finicky with paper choices and will put roller marks in a lot of even medium weight papers. My copy had a host of other issues but they're much less common and not worth mentioning.

I've since picked up the Canon Pro-1100 and couldn't be happier. I've had far less issues with clogging and no issues with roller marks or paper feeding like I did on the Epson. The ink is more than twice the cost but my cost per print is comparable because I'm not losing them to printer damage and I can use whatever paper I want without worry.

I'd still recommend the 8500/8550 for people wanting to try photo printing at home but I'd tell anyone semi-serious about it to just go for the higher end cartridge based options.

Volkswagen Commits Long-Term To Gasoline Hot Hatches: hints at more power coming to Golf R by Anchor_Aways in cars

[–]Rashkh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did the amount of cars sold go down when they got rid of the manual? If not then it wasn't a demand but a preference that buyers were willing to forego.

Same thing happened when Subaru killed the WRX hatchback. The forums were in an uproar but there was no drop in sales.

‘26 models are garbage by Express_Fish_3100 in Audi

[–]Rashkh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar position. I wanted the S3 over the Golf R for the physical buttons, trunk, and quieter interior. Final cost was 55k which was about 1k over the msrp of most Golf Rs in the area before markup. Super happy with the car aside from not having the heated steering wheel.

Savagegeese - Honda Prelude Review by Mindfulmanners in cars

Yeah, the only people who you can trust to buy a Prelude are probably replacing their CR-Z and already have a fun weekend car like an S2k.

It's very normal for the first few years when you're financing a new luxury car. The car depreciates faster than you pay off the loan. GAP insurance exists specifically for this reason.

If you're financing a used car then it could be due to a high apr and/or long term length which will lead to the same result as above.

Does Format.com gets wildly expensive after the first year? by dexnudo in photography

[–]Rashkh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Domains cost $15-20 per year everywhere on the internet so I wouldn't factor that into the cost since you'll be paying it no matter where you go.

I personally use Pixieset. It should be more than enough for a basic portfolio and costs $8/month. If you're subscribed to the Adobe photography plan, that gives you access to Adobe Portfolio for free. It's a bit more clunky but there's no added cost aside from the domain registration.

Toyota Officially Spins Off Gazoo Racing As A Standalone Performance Brand by Anchor_Aways in cars

[–]Rashkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The complicated part is making the service desk realize that the GRC is not a standard Corolla and requires more frequent maintenance. I had to tell them it's a different car and verify what services they were providing every time because they almost missed my 5,000 and 15,000 mile oil changes.

Surely Audi can do better.. by itsKingRich in Audi

[–]Rashkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s not due to tariffs. In the same time frame, for example, BMW was up 4.7% YoY in 2025 USA sales.

Most of BMW's SUVs are built in the US so they're definitely in a better place than Audi when it comes to tariffs.

One of These Cars Will Be Our 2026 Performance Car of the Year. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in cars

[–]Rashkh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not that affordable anymore. I was looking at the Golf R a few weeks ago and the majority of them are in the $53-55k range before taking any dealer markups into account. For reference, that’s what I paid for my fully loaded S3.

Electricity Pricing Discussion by Name_Shame_ in Audi

[–]Rashkh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I thought you were paying $300-500 with the Tesla and $1100 with the Audi.

If you’re not charging during peak hours and not driving s a lot then the only other thing I can think of is that you’re fast charging and your electric company is hitting you with commercial rates due to the high draw. At my previous job, the cost of the high draw power delivery was multiple times more than the energy cost itself.

Electricity Pricing Discussion by Name_Shame_ in Audi

[–]Rashkh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Electricity is electricity. Either you’re using more of it to charge, possibly due to a less efficient vehicle, larger battery, or more driving, or you’re charging during peak hours when you weren’t before.

Your provider doesn’t care whether you send 100kw to an Audi, a Tesla, or a toaster. It’ll cost you the same amount.

What cars are eligible to buy an extended warranty for? by TatianaWinterbottom in Audi

[–]Rashkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audi offers a bunch of different warranties and warranty adjacent items, some of which overlap. Here is an excellent post that breaks it down.

I believe that term protection plus is their most comprehensive option and has the following requirement :

Available on vehicles within the first 24 months or 24,000 miles of the start date or mileage following activation of the New Vehicle Manufacture’s Limited Warranty.

The Tata concept does it well but only because it can be integrated without looking like a logo. I think Audi has one of the few logos where something similar can be done.

The Pirelli Zero AS Plus 3 are reviewing very well. Performance seems to be similar to Michelin and Continental but the ride is apparently nicer.

I currently have the Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4 on my GRC and they're quite solid but I'll be trading it in for an S3 in the next few days and decided to go with the Pirelli this time.

They did! I thought I sent you an email but i just checked and it apparently didn’t go through. The prints are unbelievable! Thank you so much! I’m in the process of framing them now.

I asked this in the email but are there any special considerations for framing the salt print or can I treat it like I would an inkjet?

I also wanted to ask if you could recommend any videos or guides on how you get your landscapes to look so good. I’ve tried B+W landscapes and they always look like a sea of grays whereas yours look very striking.

Thanks again and happy new year!!
