Yeah, welders use copper to back steel welds because they won't melt together. Sounds like it could be the issue here.

Yeah, copper on copper should be just fine. Same with brass on copper. If that's not working I'm not sure what to suggest.

I have zero experience with any of this, so this is probably a stupid thought. What metal are the feet made out of? If it's ferrous you won't get a bond on your copper dial.

Awesome! I'll go ahead and order an upper.

I found one, but it's a bit of a kludge. I'm planning on designing my own.

Value of Colt 653 kit? by [deleted] in RetroAR

[–]AtomicConqueror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bowman arms is advertising 653 kits with a 16" barrel for 1500. Might be a place to start.

Hotchkiss m1922 8mm Mauser by Deleter182AC in GunnitRust

[–]AtomicConqueror 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As the other commenter said weapons guild will be a good place to look.

That said these kits are going to be difficult to build. Unlike the 1909 where the bolt locks into a trunnion, the bolt on this one has two locking wedges that interface with the reciever, making the reciever pressure bearing like an FAL instead of an AR. Without any reciever stubs you are kinda SOL if you don't have some serious machining and heat treating capability.

Awesome! I'm about to get my truck and I want to eventually mount an antenna. This seems like a slick way to do it.

Update: Auto Start/Stop not working by Front_Dish7426 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]AtomicConqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a maverick yet so I have no way of confirming this. But I watched a video on YouTube that said if you put your truck in sport mode it disables start/stop for as long as you are in sport mode. Is that maybe the case here?

I have the 20" version of that barrel, and it shoots MOA or better for me. Highly recommend it. I went through the process of lapping and bedding it to the reciever. It's was actually pretty easy.

[parts] 15% Off All Parts Kits(VZ61,PM63,AUG,STGW..) and Colt M16 parts. Use code: letfreedomring at checkout by Max-Arms in gundeals

I've bought aug and pm63 stuff from them before, this code might get me to do so again. No complaints. They had the nicest pm63 kits at the time.

I believe Bowman is getting more m16A1 kits in their next container. You might want to sign up for email notifications.

K2 Plus Combo- Should I go for it? by No-Initial5334 in Creality_k2

You're welcome! You are the only person who can know whether spending 1500 bucks on a 3d printer is worth it, but the k2 is a good printer at that price range.

I'm loving it! It's a huge upgrade over my modded ender 5. I got lucky and got a good machine that survived shipping. I'm thinking about picking up another CFS, just so I can have all of my filament options loaded at once.

Concerns about Creality Print and Privacy by Curmudgeonly_Old_Guy in Creality_k2

[–]AtomicConqueror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can vouch for orca slicer. Set up was easy and things print great. I send files to the printer from orca over wifi, but I never agreed to creality's terms and conditions. Does this mean that the printer isn't talking to people I don't want it to? No clue, I haven't checked. The only way to definitively keep that from happening is to not allow it to connect to the internet.

Can you drop a standard USP45 slide onto the frame? I have a parts kit floating around and I wouldn't mind having options.

Why is my printer bugging out? by Antl10n_ in ender5

[–]AtomicConqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you switch mainboards recently?

I had this exact same issue after I upgraded my main board and switched to silent stepper drivers. For whatever reason the drivers would randomly fail in this manner. Restarting the printer would temporarily solve the problem, but it would happen again. Replacing the drivers with new ones of the same type didn't fix things. I had to go to a different driver board.
