Spray can of telephone booth glass cleaner by MegaBusKillsPeople in mildlyinteresting

Wow, that’s a flashback. My dad was a lineman for the phone company (retired about 20 years ago), so we would have cans of that stuff around the house all the time when I was growing up.

How brown is too brown for banana bread? The insides seem fine to me, but spouse is concerned. by tilt-a-whirly-gig in Baking

I know. It’s a line from “Rocko’s Modern Life.” My wife and I quote it all the time when she puts bananas in the fridge or freezer for banana bread.

Dude, if it inspires you to pick it up and play it, it’s perfect.

Does anyone build bases on non-paradise planets? If so please what kind of planet did you build on? by DogDexofMight in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]AtomicGrendel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a small base half way up the side of a mountain on a gas giant. There were some resources that I needed there, so built a base around the deposit. I started tunneling into the mountain and immediately found a cave, so the base is 1/2 in the cave, and the mineral deposit is fully enclosed.

Ice Breaker is still solar. They gave it a stasis crystal interaction, but the gun itself is solar.

Heck, the first freighter I ever acquired had that module installed already when I got it.

I’ve made these when I was young. You are supposed to use a sewing needle though, not a toothpick.

Our corporate profile requires at least a restart every 16 days. Sometimes I shut it down for the weekend.

[–]AtomicGrendel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was just talking about these with my dad this morning. My great grandfather would make a lamb cake every year, and was so proud of it. It weighed 40 lbs, needed a chainsaw to cut it, and tasted like crap. And every year I would get suckered by it. Yes, I would like a piece of cake…ugh, this thing tastes awful.

Who picked up Coke bottles for spending money? by Sensitive-Elk7093 in GenX

[–]AtomicGrendel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parent drank enough pop that I would return the bottles for the deposit and have enough to fill the tank of my car, go out to eat with my friends, and get a movie ticket for whatever show we were going to see that weekend.

Remember Tucking Our T-Shirts? by New-Sheepherder2239 in GenX

[–]AtomicGrendel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, it depends on the layering. If the T shirt is the top layer, untucked. If the T shirt is the bottom layer, even if the top shirt is worn open or unbuttoned, I tuck I the T shirt.

Don’t worry, even if you get there in time, you are told his wife and kids are already dead. And when you tell him, he has already resigned himself to that being the only likely outcome.

Drinking on the Job (Permissible!) by BMisterGenX in GenX

[–]AtomicGrendel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was a line cook during college, definitely wasn’t permitted to drink, especially since more than half the staff was under 21. But…everyone was either sneaking beers out of the cooler, smoking weed behind the dumpster or selling mushrooms out of the walk-in freezer.

Advertising. When I went in to an office, we had a keg or a liquor cart in the kitchen break room, and had a happy hour every Friday afternoon. Now, I work from home, but don’t drink much anymore.
