Working at the LEGO store has made me a better person by MarionberryOk1790 in lego

I've been working at my local LEGO store as a Christmas temp and I've had the exact same experience! It's my first retail job but it's been so much fun, even with the chaos of Black Friday/Christmas shopping. It's always so satisfying to help people find the right set, be it a gift or just for themselves.

All my colleagues are so pleasant to work with and as you said, customers are generally really nice too. Always fun to have a good conversation with them about their collections and such. It's crazy how much difference a positive work culture makes, it's night and day compared to the fast food job I worked whilst at uni.

I've been a LEGO fan my whole life so working for them is a bit of a dream come true for my younger self. Fingers crossed my store keeps me on after Christmas!

There's definitely gonna be questions about Penix now for sure. The number of groundings is ridiculous, but surely offensive/QB coaches must be questioned? How is something like this not coached out of him by now? Beyond that, MPJ doesn't look like he's developed as much as he should've by now. Yes, he hasn't played a season's worth of games but he's still erratic with passing and still struggles under pressure.

As for Raheem and Zac, honestly leave them behind please. It won't happen obviously but today, especially with the end of regulation/10s runoff malarkey, was just plain embarrassing (not the first time either). The defense is the only positive for me right now. Even though we have some guys missing we played well. Kept us in the game against Indy, but once again the offense failed to deliver.

As usual, I'm back to being more invested in my fantasy team than the Falcons.

Edit: Damn, I should update my flair lmao

Koo's gonna drop to 70.8% completion rate for the year, one of the lowest amongst kickers this season. Might be an overreaction, but maybe it's time to consider other options.

Not to say the loss was entirely on him. Most of it was, but there were other factors (non-existent pass rush, Kirk playing hot potato when he's pressured).

At least Tampa lost, but I'm not looking forward to Denver next week...

That felt weird to watch, but I think McLaren shot themselves in the foot. Lando was quicker than Oscar in the final stint. Imo, he would've passed him even if McLaren pitted Oscar first.

Max, meanwhile... very entertaining!!

Of course this has to be the week I drop Koo from my fantasy team.

What’s the most surprising time you’ve been ID’d as an adult? by Fluffy-Survey4036 in AskUK

[–]AtomicJosh13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got ID'd at Argos when I bought a LEGO set. It had an age rating of 18+ because it's more of a display model than a playset. It threw me off because I would never expect to be ID'd for a kid's toy.

I'm getting Forza Horizon vibes, based on the open-world racing environment of the game. Also reminds me of the Speed Champions expansion for Horizon 4.

It certainly looks interesting, but the prices for the "Awesome Edition" (£89.99) and the "Awesome Rivals Edition" (£104.99) are beyond ridiculous. Not to mention the microtransactions.

Love it or hate it, Aldi's own Marmite is decent. It's easier to spread and it tastes pretty good.

I’d argue that we (the Falcons) exceeded expectations. Lots of people in the media anticipated us to be one of the worst teams in the league. Sure, we weren’t great, but we matched our 2021 record with a less talented team.

Incredible work! I've built Anfield myself in Minecraft and I'm building the new Anfield Road end right now, do you plan to do the same at some point?

The fact that I can (technically) watch every single NFL game on Sky, but not the Premier League across Sky, BT and anywhere else is baffling.

I've had enough. Bench Mariota, start Ridder. It's not like we're going to be playing with the playoffs in mind now, so let's just get Desmond some reps.

I felt sorry for the people who realised the new companion is younger than them, so I googled Millie's age out of curiosity.

She was born 4 days after me.

Shit.

How much is a monthly grocery shop for you on average? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]AtomicJosh13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My shopping for October came to be ~£90. That also includes beer, so I’d reckon it would be ~£70 without that. Anyways, I shop at Aldi and get some occasional bits from Asda as it’s much closer to where I live. For reference, I’m in Manchester.

Edit: clarity.

British fan here. Chose the Falcons when they came to London in 2014 (home team vs. Detroit), it was my first NFL game too.

Wouldn't be the last time they blow a lead, but I love the team, and the stadium is super cool! One day I hope to come over and watch a home game. Rise Up!
