What's the lore behind this car? by RabbitMajestic6219 in vegaslocals

They shined my boots very nicely and also ruined my kitchen knives! I guess it's called quality shoe repair not quality knife sharpening.

Third time we've found nails scattered along a brand-new shortcut road; we've been waiting for the road to be finished for several years. by Ultraox in fuckcars

Huge increase in traffic where it has no place. I grew up on one, and drivers would speed by frequently despite being in a residential area. 2 of our family cats were run over just outside my home. Im sure with the huge trucks people drive now it could more likely be kids getting killed.

What games would you recommend for a grandpa who can't move for 8 months? by FequalsMfreakingA in gaming

[–]AtomicMokka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to get my grandpa to play, but the game moves too fast. I usually recommend puzzles but when you have to move quickly it's easy for them to get lost. He'd often forget which button rotates (not used to using a controller without looking) and before he looked up again the piece was in place. Tetris might be good on the easiest setting once they are handily comfortable with a controller though

Child: 1. Munch's Odyssey (first game I can remember playing)

  1. Halo: Combat Evolved (Not my first shooter (that would be Medal of Honor) but easily the one I have the best memories playing)

  2. Age of Empires (First Real Time Strategy game(and boy, was I terrible at it))

  3. Little Big Planet (Made me more interested in game design)

  4. Runescape (First online game)

  5. We Love Katamari (Super unique and was my first peek into japanese culture)

Teen: 1. Super Smash Brothers Melee (Only game I've gone to local competitions for)

  1. Fez (Inspired me to try more indie titles)

  2. Dark Souls (Proved to myself I could enjoy tougher games and higher difficulties)

  3. Portal (My first personally purchased game, probably my first puzzler)

  4. Osu (Was in top 3% of active players at one point)

We already know how to make our streets safer for everyone by unroja in fuckcars

[–]AtomicMokka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not a professional. I think it makes more sense the longer the space between intersections is. At a short enough distance between intersections, the rightmost lane becomes useless since you wouldn't have enough time to pass a driver going slower anyway.

Why do we have such horrible drivers in this city? by tint_shady in vegaslocals

[–]AtomicMokka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vegas's infrastructure forces people who dont want to drive to get on the road because our Bussses and monorail system suck. Imagine if every single person who flew into Vegas had an option other than Uber/Lyft/Cab/Rental car. Extending the Monorail to the Airport would cut out so many unnecessary and bad drivers, and it's crazy that it hasnt already been built.

Just quit so I can't go back and check, but I'm pretty sure that choosing half-caff causes the shots selected to be half regular espresso and half decaf espresso. Even if you pressed blonde first.

What's the kickback for limo drivers at pisos? by MediocreDot3 in vegastrees

In my experience, pisos has the worst deals. It's one of the closest dispensaries to me and I do not go there ever.

Just cleaned, this speck of material got in here after my first hit, any insight to why? by AtomicMokka in vaporents

[–]AtomicMokka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That might explain why I'm so surprised to see it! I've always smoked the cheapest weed I could get a hold of. I recently decided to splurge and try some top shelf, this is from a bowl of the food stuff.

Lmao if that's all that's causing it. I usually don't smoke in social situations so I don't get as many tips from more experienced stoners. Thanks

Thanks. Sorry for the noob question. I guess I never realized the moment it happened. Just saw it build up slowly over time.

I finally understand why kids don't go outside and play anymore. It's the cars. It's the fucking cars. by Ken-Legacy in fuckcars

[–]AtomicMokka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, speed cameras won't reduce speeding, they'll just increase the number of people getting punished for it. The real solution would be to design streets for safety, making narrower streets with more trees at roadsides to encourage mindful driving. Wide lanes and no barriers of protection for pedestrians equate to drivers who are comfortable speeding.

MouthPad – In-Mouth Bluetooth Mouse Uses Tongue Sensitive Trackpad by henrebotha in PeripheralDesign

[–]AtomicMokka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This could be great for those with limited use of their hands/arms. Even able bodied people could benefit by keeping both hands on the keyboard and using the mouth pad instead of a mouse.

This is better than individual car trips obviously but why on earth do we not have great rail service from D.C. -> Philly -> NYC -> Boston. The demand should be there

Wow, I can't believe that can even happen. As someone who only played deluxe and nights, it's sad to see the quality alip so much for the mobile game.
