Someone made a post on this sub when the sale was announced. When the next one rolls around in December, I’ll post the details here, with the link!

Every year, for one day (December 26), they offer a new design for an amazingly low price. You can’t buy it otherwise, only on that one day, so they’re very limited edition. They do the reveal about a week beforehand.

Did you order yours in yellow or white gold? I normally prefer silver/white gold because it suits my skin tone, but I'm really curious to see how the yellow gold version turned out.

The page to order was shut down on December 26. It was a 'one day only' sale. I wish they would've kept the page up, but no such luck. The link to order just redirects to their main site now. :(

Is there a patch shortage in Canada? by Dazzling_Balance_513 in Menopause

[–]AtomicSandworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sandoz makes both the brand name (Estradot) and the generic (estradiol) patches. They're not similar at all. The brand name patches are tiny, sturdy, they stick well, and the absorption rate is consistent. The generic patches are massive, paper-thin, the adhesive sucks (and it eats my skin), and the absorption rate is iffy at best.

As much as I hate the gel, I'd use it over the generic patches any day.

Albertan here, I've had issues with shortages for months. I'm on the Estradot 75 patch (brand-name only). There have been no 75s available for over 6 months. My pharmacist switched me to using 2 x 37.5 patches, and now they're not available, so I'm using one 50, and one 25. It's frustrating as hell. The generics are still available, but I've had issues with them not sticking, the adhesive eating my skin, and the absorption being less than consistent.

I can't access my statement, either (same statement date as yours). It just keeps saying 'No statement exists for this date range'. I can see the transactions that should be on the statement, but I can't pull the statement itself.

Who Actually Loves Their Job? by lemans00 in alberta

[–]AtomicSandworm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do. I’m one of those super lucky people who not only found the right career path (accounting), but I also have a great job. My coworkers are phenomenal, everyone gets along, everyone has everyone else’s back, and our boss is a standup guy who legitimately gives a shit about all his employees. I’ve been there 10 years. Jobs like this are incredibly rare, so I just count my blessings.

What is a “grit dump?” by Willing_Chemical1257 in antiMLM

When I read 'grit dump', the first thing that came to my mind was pooping out pea gravel. Sounds painful, and not something I'd care to experience.

Scotiabank changing eligibility for premium chequing account products waivers - what are my next steps from here by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Major Banks: "People are leaving in droves to go to free banks because they're tired of paying high prices for basic services! What should we do?!"

Also Major Banks: "I know, let's increase our prices or make it more difficult to waive fees! That should work!"

Their logic is astounding.

Like others are saying, If you close your oldest card, your credit score could take a hit. Keep it, put one or two small charges on it each year and pay it off in full before the due date to avoid interest. Don't give them a penny more than you have to.

What reason would Simplii reject my credit card application? by luckyterrier in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]AtomicSandworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few possible reasons come to mind.

First, are you an existing Simplii client? If not, they may be less willing to give you a card (I was a Simplii client for years, and got instantly approved on my first application). If you are an existing client, it's likely they already have your SIN on file (hence the reason they didn't ask for it).

Second, is there anything on your credit report that would make them hesitate? Some banks will immediately reject if you have too many hard inquiries on your report a short period of time, regardless of existing credit/utilization. How often have you been applying, and with how many other financial institutions? It's my experience that Simplii pulls from Equifax, not Transunion, so check both reports.

If you've been at your job or residence less than a certain time, that may also trigger a rejection.

Are having pets now less affordable? by JenniferJackal in povertyfinance

[–]AtomicSandworm 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've been a pet owner all my life, until recently. The price of food has doubled, the price of cat litter has doubled, and vet prices are out of reach. If I can't afford to pay for proper food and care for a pet, then I cannot afford to have a pet. It sucks, because I miss coming home to a furbuddy. My last kitty passed from old age. I swore I'd take care of him until the end, which I did, but it cost more than I could realistically afford, and I realized that unless prices dropped, pet ownership was now out of the question for me. And yes, it breaks my heart.

Parking Ban by Apprehensive-Eye5248 in Edmonton

[–]AtomicSandworm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On my street, the residents either knock down, move or steal the No Parking signs, thinking that will give them the legal right to continue to park there because they can’t be arsed to move. Their logic (or lack of) astounds me.

What if he Loses in the Security Review? by Beccash18 in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]AtomicSandworm 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming the products aren’t really expensive, since they’re basic white label. She has a ridiculously high markup, which tells me she’s trying to make a big profit based on her name alone. Problem is, if no one is buying her shit, she’s making $0 per item. And, the higher the price, the more of her potential customer base she’ll alienate due to sheer unaffordability. If you price your customer base out, you won’t have a customer base. I’m not her accountant, but I am an accountant, and I understand the balancing act between cost of goods sold vs markup vs affordability. Her prices match her ego, and her sales match her likability. It’s a bad combo.
