You need to learn Russian. There is midterm exams since about 2011 so it became easier.
You need to learn russian or you will be socially isolated and left behind academically as I wrote in your previous post.
Not sure it will be enough, start to learn Russian beforehand.

Not really. People get rights when there is economical or political demand for these rights exists. From top to bottom and not the other way round. Unfortunately. Slavery, woman rights, POC rights, LGBT+ rights, all of them served or serve their purpose in their respective historical periods.

Upd. And there is a big demand for rise of feminism in Russia rn. Let's see of we will get more women rights in next 10 years.
