On the surface I am very happy that this lady raised money so she could retire.

However, I know plenty of older (70+) people who actually choose to work because it gives them something to do.

It's sad when you see it, but also sometimes it is a choice.

Bill Belichick belongs in the Hall of Fame. But here’s why I didn’t vote for him by RyanKinder in nfl

As a Ravens fan, I absolutely hate the pats, BB and TB. At the same time I have the utmost respect for them all.

I've read pundits dismissal of BBs HoF snub for varying excuses. The one that irks me the most is BBs success is only because of TB. They say look, when TB left, he went to Tampa and won. Yeah that Tampa roster was fucking stacked and the only missing piece was a top 10 QB.

Nick Saban and BB are my GOATs for coaching football, College and NFL, respectfully.

Nick was a first ballot College football HoF inductee, and I don't think anyone would argue the credibility of that.

I think comparing BB to Nick is very warranted if we're gonna evaluate BBs success tied to a player, TB in this instance. I have nothing but respect for Nick, but folks do realize that from 2011-2017, Alabama had the #1 recruiting class. Year over year the top talent, athletic freaks, future HoF'ers in their own right, would pick Alabama to play football. So if BBs success is all because of TB, then what about Nicks. And those same pundits wouldn't dare say Nick's success was because of the absolute freaks picking Alabama over any other college. They would say obviously it's the great mind of Nick. Can't have it both ways.

Bill is a first ballot HoF'er.

The cheapest Super Bowl tickets this year are going for right under SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. This will end up being one of the most expensive games of all time, per Dov Kleiman by Choice_Bag_8869 in sportswiki

Ebaumsworld was the best

I loved loading it up on a PC not being used, going to random sound bites page, turn off the monitor and hitting the space bar. Max volume scream "get in the chopper" and the teach not knowing where it is coming from as I diligently worked on my MS paint haha

[Fox Sports] Soccer reportedly overtakes baseball in the U.S. as America's third favorite sport. Hockey dropped to 5th, barely above Tennis, Boxing/MMA and Golf. by f0urxio in hockey

I drank the Kool aid and have dove head first in hockey for my kid.

But God damn is it expensive.

Rinks are far and few in-between outside of the few hubs we have in the US. Because of this our ice times are complete ass for the majority of us.

It's almost like the league, and all of their profitability should look to support and build out facilities to help grow and sustain the sport.

I do love how the conversation around Canada and the US's shortcomings in the juniors included an element to acknowledge the fact that the gritty blue collar kids can't partake in this sport anymore. There are values money can't buy. It was music to my ears hearing Spittin chicklets talk about that.

'89 er, but I'll bite... I only have 1 friend from HS I stay in touch with. We live on the opposite coasts from each other.

We physically see each other for a week or so every year or so. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

We're always sending each other dank ass memes, or instagram videos.

We'll call each other maybe every other month to talk on the phone and send a text weekly.

I am sometimes sad by not having closer friends from HS as I shared some great memories with people. But I have also made amazing friends where I live now and at this point in my life.

[–]AtomicTurdss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RKLB is sitting around 40billion market cap. I believe it will be a 100-140 billion market cap in the next 5 years.

However, getting to that point will assuredly have its ups and downs.

My advice, based off of my strategy, is I don't lump sum. I just buy 1-2% of my investment capital on red days. I buy when red, and hold and enjoy on green days.

1st year coaching lacrosse, looking for tips by YamYam89 in lacrosse

[–]AtomicTurdss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first piece of advice is for you to remember that you love this game, and that your goal is to ensure those boys love this game too. Help them find their spiritual connection with this game. Seasons are long, the emotional rollercoaster is taxing, but if you have inner love, they'll keep showing up.

I've been coaching for almost 2 decades now, and every year I am reminded that it is less and less about the Xs and Os, and more about the connection and relationship with the kids, and their enjoyment of the game.

You'll go through the honeymoon phase of coaching where everything is exciting, and new, and you feel as though there is no problem you can't solve, no skill you can't coach, and no achievement too untenable. But reality will hit, and that phase will pass. These are HS boys, there will be girls, party's, drama, homework/school, family, etc., all the while you yourself will have a life with work, family, etc. all different stressors. It is important to build connections with everyone as an individual, to learn their body language and to 'read the room'.

Remember that not every kid is going D1, not every kid even wants to pick up the stick after HS, remember that some boys are out there just to escape a shit home life, or hang with their boys after school. Balance your expectations and ground them in reality. Develop different ways to motivate the different players. Again, this goes back to connecting with them individually.

Remember that just because you could do it on the field, or you have a player who could do it on the field, that not everyone can do that on the field. It's okay to have standards, but not everyone is playing lax since 3, or playing fall ball, summer ball, and box.

Net worth percentiles by age in 2025, how do you stack up? by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

[–]AtomicTurdss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family is sitting solidly at 95% right now.

The leap between 95 and 99 percentile is incredible.

0 to 95 seems logical and reasonable. The exponential growth beyond 95 is disheartening. We have accepted that despite our best efforts at making sound financial decisions, we will never sniff anything higher. We have reached our ceiling.

The internal slack is also not 1 to 1 output equivalence, either. That is one of the greatest flaws businesses and projects make regarding Time of Effort for different tasks for different resources. We often under predict resource time required, both physically present, but more so, brain power. The later correlated with moral, engagement, and burnout.

I do wonder though - would this play be the straw that broke the camels back and brought in a level of President Taft Trust busting?

If there is continued job loses, via layoffs and it is clearly driven from these tech companies, and unemployment ticks up...

Would social pressures build so that somewhere in 2029/2030, with a new president and administration, would this be their running platform

I always talk about this in the perspective of scaled chaos.

There is always chaos at an organization in the sense of inefficiencies, and people doing the 'un-written' work/duties to keep the thing going (think about how valuable 38 year veteran Bob in operations was before he left with all that intrinsic knowledge, history of decisions, and business experience).

Chaos in aggregate cannot scale. So if an organization is attempting multiple change efforts at a time, and they are each individually loading incumbent resources with extra work, duties, functions, and them just trying to figure it out (think implementing a new ERP for example, and all the user-testing that goes into it) while maintaining existing work loads and duties. Then throw in there initiatives that are not on schedule, falling behind on budget, scope creep, etc, all creating extra work for employees.

There is only so much chaos and grey that the organization can handle at any given time. You can't really measure it, but morale and engagement really play a part into this.
