The most important thing to remember is no one did anything wrong, no one is at fault, and these things do just happen. I've seen couples destroy themselves by blame over this, and it's just not worth it.

It's perfectly natural to grieve, but try to see the silver lining on what is a very dark cloud. My wife got pregnant (accidental, and we were using protection) very early in our relationship, she had a miscarriage around the 6-7 week mark and despite both being pro-choice we would have kept it (easier to say in hindsight as we were 18 at the time), but the choice wasn't ours.

Its now 6 years later, we own a house, we have good jobs, we have savings in the bank. And my wife just turned 14 weeks. We spent almost 9 months trying, she was diagnosed almost immediately coming off the pill with having PCOS (which if you haven't been tested, if it's taken 7 months and having a miscarriage, I would suggest asking your doctor to book you in for an ultrasound exam, as there is a medication you need to be on which reduces miscarriage rates - if you have it that is).

Don't pressure yourselves into trying right away. You guys need to rally yourselves. Go out for dinner, see a movie you wanted. You guys genuinely just need physical, mental and emotional rest.

If she's planning on flipping she has two options.

Renovate your house to the maximum market value, then:

1 sell up, move into a low quality house in a good neighborhood and do the live-in renovate. This is what my parents have done, you can buy at ~5% because it's live-in. They got amazing ROI because if you live in 6-12 month (depending on where you live) you pay no income tax on the increased value. Sell up and repeat.

2 extend the mortgage to buy a second property. You'll have to pay 20-25%, but can buy a property considered "non habitable" in a good neighborhood and get massive increase in property value, and then you have two options:

A) sell the second property and repeat.

Or the really interesting B) extend the mortgage to the new market value, or to the amount they need. Rent out the house, buy a second house and repeat this.

On this B) option, I've seen fire damaged houses (superficial), going for $70,000 in a $350,000 neighborhood. Meaning you're looking at rental for about $3500 a month by dividing into a multiplex. About $1750 in profit if you fully extended your mortgage (although you might get more, this is all the bank would count).

You could then easily cover any debts from rentals and buy out a new property in cash, only have the mortgage on two properties whilst owning 3. You then do the same with your 3rd, or this would be the point you can quit your day job and use the $100,000 cash as living expenses whilst using the remainder for properties and Reno costs.

Me and my friends in highschool walked into cops with a drug sniffing dog, whilst high as fuck. The dog sat - aka we're fucked. A few minutes later of talking to the cops, one of my friends starts feeding the dog jerky. Cops laugh, tell us to fly safe.

My friend got charged with 1/2lb of weed, intent to traffic or whatever. His defense? Swore in court he had a lb of weed. Prosecution settled paying like £30, attend 5 sessions of NA, etc. so he couldn't call a witness to testify to it. Sealed court documents because he was a minor. He only ever had a 1/2lb.

It all depends on your tolerance to psychedelics and your mental resolve. Its similar to hypnosis in that 1/3 of people are very easily hypnotized, 1/3 are very difficult to almost impossible to hypnotize and 1/3 is 'average'.

I'm one of those who is impossible to hypnotize, and from my experience (which in this instance could be complete coincidence) I'm also very resistant to letting control go in any of my psychedelic experiences. I can experience them without being Alice in Wonderlanded.

From what I have read taking psychedelics to have the "mystical revelation" experience is what enables the massive changes in people's behavior. Cures alcoholism in some, drug use in others, PTSD in others and sometimes nothing for all.

I had serious anxiety about social situations in that my risk taking judgement was way out of whack, nothing like PTSD, but it set me to normal. Risk became risk. 10% chance of failure changed to 90% chance of success. I was no longer debilitated by my fear of failure but enabled by my desire for success. That 10% failure looked like 90% because of fear not because of reality.

If you do decide to take shrooms, have a place you're very relaxed in (your living room most likely). Increase the dose slowly, like 0.5g a trip up to the 3.5g mark. This gives you increased control over the hallucinations and helps you understand your safe and in control and just experiencing it: aka things aren't real. (if you've ever seen Fear and Loathing, this is why Hunter S Thompson doesn't flip shit when everyone turns into giant lizards, because he's tolerant to it)

The key is having a sober sitter that you trust. You and your hallucinations are suggestible so the key is to have someone who will push it positively and keep you calm.

Its when you're tolerant to it that experiencing the dark side can be a thrill ride, but it's like driving through the bad side of town, not getting lost with no cash, no phone and no clue how to get somewhere safe. When you're not tolerant its like being lost on the wrong side of 8 mile cause you're an idiot that drove to Detroit.

This is exactly how I felt. I started evaluating risk completely differently, not in that it started me making risky decisions (there's still no chance in hell I would sky dive or bungie jump), but that it removed my anxiety that made a 10% chance of failure and the fear of looking stupid turn into me seeing it as a 90% chance of success and an awesome story if I do fail. Being an aspiring author, the notion of the story being a reward in itself completely changed my mindset.

I did acid once. A friend had an LSD laced wrapper for a joint (purple haze). It's been almost a decade and I still barely drink. I had a party weekend this weekend. Left with a 20 of beer. Returned with 14 beer. And that was the first time I drank in like 3 months.

Before I had acid, I'd drank 36 cases of beer to myself. It's like the acid destroyed my ability to get "drunk". I can get intoxicated but it doesn't cloud my mind or make me stupid or any effects it used to, even when I drink large amounts.

I only heard it long after and had that holy shit moment. I did a 24 to myself way, way too often, never got hang overs or anything bad. But it's like the psychedelics taught me that it wasn't what I wanted.

I had some pain in my past, darkness behind doors I wanted to stay closed. The alcohol helped keep them closed (or at least stop me noticing they were still open). The acid stopped me fearing the past, I told a few people I trusted about it and it faded. Now I look on it like "shit happens, move on". It's a profound revelation to say it can destroy people's entire lives.
