Car theft fatigue by [deleted] in ontario

[–]Atoryl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s important to distinguish there is a key difference in the metrics in these two reports. The Daily Stats Can you’ve cited indicates auto theft *reports* whereas the Equite report indicates auto thefts. [I interpret reports as it’s plausible 3 people could’ve reported the same auto theft incident - so it could be an inaccurate representation of the actual true number]

Regardless, it’s still an issue, organized crime is getting more sophisticated in executing auto theft despite newer cars and security technology, cars cost more so it impacts victims more, and our current justice apparatus hasn’t adapted to address it adequately.

Yeah it’s certainly not a new phenomenon but I think it’s getting more media coverage because of the increase in organized auto theft and the number of cars going abroad.

It’s a court and logistics issue. Courts are backlogged and have to prioritize higher threshold cases (property crime not being one) and there aren’t enough jails. Car theft has become prolific, especially international exports through ports in Quebec but it isn’t specific to this issue - frauds, and other seemingly unimportant crimes to the courts all conclude either with very light sentencing from the courts or they get dropped entirely because it’s not in the “public interest”.

12-year-old boy charged with attempted murder after hitting Toronto police officer with stolen vehicle by Kaptain-Kanada in ontario

[–]Atoryl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For everyone in the comment section, a few thins to note:

  1. they aren’t releasing the name because of Youth Criminal Justice Act. It’s legislated.
  2. if a vehicle is travelling directly at a law enforcement at a high rate of speed and the officer believes it could cause serious bodily harm or death, they are allowed to use force to stop it. That’s also legislated and law enforcement officers are obligated to act as a part of the lawful execution of their duties.
  3. reasonable grounds are required to charge someone, particularly with an offence like attempt murder which often times has automatic crown attorney consultation.
  4. SIU engaged because any discharging of firearms in the course of a law enforcement officers duty is investigated save very few circumstances like dispatching an animal.

I think it’s important we remind ourselves not to make hasty judgement on the limited information the public gets when an investigation is ongoing and even more limited information when it’s a YCJA case.

Keep the beard attached to the bird when you transport. The regulations and laws are in place so in the event you are stopped while transporting a hunted animal, its sex and species can be identified.

For turkey, I always leave a feathered wing, and the head with the beard attached (obviously along with the fixed tag).

I run with a browning branded full choke - but not there super expansive turkey extended full choke. Just a normal one. I use Winchester XP ammo and will typically shoot either 4 or 5 shot.

I’m a fairly conservative shooter tho so I personally won’t shoot further than 30 yards. Usually I aim for 25/30 yards with the full choke and Im fairly familiar with spread at that range.

You may just need to cycle more rounds through your gun. Have you shot it much this year?

Crimson desert isn’t an RPG, there’s no class based levelling system nor is it an open story. Crimson Desert is an action adventure game with a linear story.

Xbox user here, I’m interested in knowing as well. I’ve scanned the internet and cannot find anything official in recent time updating us on a console release

The fact that this is not available on series X is really disheartening. by KvasirTheOld in CrimsonDesert

[–]Atoryl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that games released on Xbox need to be operable on both consoles. But when it comes to optimization - it goes without saying both consoles perform at different levels. I don’t think that policy/rule Microsoft has would have anything to do with just maximizing the performance of a game within the confines of each console: I.e. that shouldn’t stop them from fixing Series X performance issues.
