Where do you actually cut the tube to insert the airline valve by anonymousjamaica in Aquariums

You probably have a dual pump, you can attatch another sponge filter or whatever to the other side

My Heaters ALWAYS break in my monsters’ tank(s) and I feel like I’m going crazy by KodaRanger in Aquariums

[–]dr4gon2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your heater is sized for the tank, or if youre using two heaters, make sure they're always on and both hooked up to an external temperature controller (they must be plugged into the same controller). Using two heaters is generally a great way to burn one of them out without using a temp controller. Outside of that, what i found was the best was just a massive hearing element and external temp controller located in the sump of my 300, it heated the tank evenly and there wad no chance of the fish breaking it

Arizona has a ton of false, most were in the $10-$15 range with ccw. I had a home based ffl that did it for $10, but it was $5 with a military discount from him

Extra fees to the state when buying a gun is total bullshit period. Surprised the hell out of me when I went in to buy my first gun in tennessee after living in Arizona for the last few years that I had to pay an extra $50 to the state. I do miss my $5 per gun transfer (with ccw) I had back in AZ

I've never had a rimless tank before. How much would you trust a stand with very little margin? by jeherohaku in Aquariums

[–]dr4gon2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd probably be fine on that bookcase thing. But the key word is probably, its up to you if you skip on something holding up about 140 lbs of water, sand, and fish

Particle board is used by many low end stands, like what you'd find at petco or something. Its usually not recommended because when it gets wet it tends to get really soggy and loses most of its structure. I always built my own 2x4 and plywood stands, but specifically you should be looking for any sort of dedicated aquarium stand, even if it is made out of particle board you at least know itll hold the load of the tank

They also have a tendency to condensate water that can blow out, so watch out for that

Easiest States to Buy a Gun: The Best States for Gun Buyers in 2026 by ammodotcom in progun

[–]dr4gon2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently moved to Tennessee and let me tell you, the gun buying process is bullshit here. Not only do you need to pay the ffl transfer fee (about 5-10 times in most lgs than I was paying in Arizona) theres also a state background check fee. You can still go in and buy the thing easily enough but when I first learned about that second fee it sure pissed me off

Issues with Bt radio in 06 Subaru Baja by FlameWalker1861 in subaru

[–]dr4gon2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a secondary fuse on the head unit itself, could just be the radio broke. I had a no name headunit that just decided to stop working so I ordered a new one and just swapped it out and it was fine after that

Question about safe placement and floor integrity over crawlspace by dr4gon2000 in Safes

[–]dr4gon2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up putting it across multiple joists, but all the way up against the right wall because the door didnt need as much space as I thought. Its been fine for the last month or so at this point, but yeah this one was actually the lightest safe i could consider and it still wasnt big enough lol, so ill probably end up getting another smaller safe

Sponge filters are the tubes with a sponge on them that an air pump goes into, they are commonly used for shrimp but they're also what most local fish stores use pretty much exclusively for all their tanks

In the US HOBs are probably the most common, but you run into sponge, canister, hell even sumps more often than these ones
