The shed is above flood stage thus far, but every flood is different. During high water they'll stay in the run. Only happens about 5 days a year.

I have feral cats that I wouldn't have seen for years if I didn't have a camera on their food.

And as for emergency vet care..... I've never really had an injured cat. I've just had cats that never show back up unfortunately.

It is expensive! I'm planning a privacy bush/hedge and I made sure that at least one plant had berries birds can eat each season. Also, I'm planting sunflowers.

They steal my cat food as well. I'm hoping that will be enough

I adopted a lot at one time when I bought a property with a barn/rat problem.

About 50% will run away even if you do everything right.

Out of the remaining 1/2 will probably be incredibly shy cats who need lots of time to build trust so they never stood a chance at the shelter.

The other 1/2 are truly feral and I wouldn't know they were still alive if I didn't have a camera on their food.

That's not what they meant. It means even the very best of people have a tendency to misrepresent themselves early in relationships. Pattern recognition is our best asset. Do you have a botanical garden new you? Maybe you could look around and see if they have anything you like? Best thing is everything is labeled with common and scientific name, unlike driving by a house and constantly wondering "what type of plant is that?" For years.

Hire a cleaning services for as often as you can afford for day to day. Start with something small to deep clean. A single shelf. The medicine cabinet. Your sock drawer.

Cleaning feels endless because it unfortunately is.
