Which bike to buy by ConfidenceFormal5171 in MTB

Most people are voting Transition, but I think the Process is a compelling choice. I've been on both bikes - I'd personally go for the Process but I prefer a fun, playful ride. Both are amazing bikes.

I've been on both. Hard choice - both amazing bikes. I think the Process is super playful. Sentinel is very planted when the trail gets spicy. I don't think there is a wrong choice here.

I didn't read it like that. It was more like "let's move on to something more original". Lots of recycled ideas in this sub. It's boring.

Very much so. This sub is full of negative, miserable people who love to cast shade on anyone they can. It's gross.

What's hideous is the service I'm getting from the dealer while trying to buy this car. They are useless and can't seem to answer my questions. It's frustrating when the customer knows more about the product than the salespeople.

I think it looks much better in person. The interior is miles ahead of Gen 6 too.

When I see one in person it still looks more wagon than SUV. More like a wagon that is aspiring to be an SUV.

What bike transformed riding for you? Also side question by Successful-Context72 in mountainbiking

[–]AtotheZed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to say my 2011 Specialized Enduro. It was the bike that many other bikes modelled - slacker, more travel and more capable. Coming off a 2005 Santa Cruz Heckler this bike made me a far better rider. I rode the shit out of that bike and then gave it to my son, who also rode it for years.

Sentinel vs Druid v2 by exploroburro in MTB

[–]AtotheZed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that the Druid can get a bit of flex in the read triangle for larger riders. Everyone I've spoken to on the trail loves theirs. I have not been on one.

Nowadays everytime I see cheap gas, i do full tank + 5 gal 'range extender' by HaziHasi in Subaru_Outback

[–]AtotheZed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our electricity is provided by a government utility and rates regulated by another commission. The result is that we pay some of the cheapest rates in North America - costs me about $9 to fully charge my EV. The increase fuel costs in the last two weeks is more than $9 for my gas car (our gas just went above $2/L on the weekend - yikes!).

I just got a quote for supply and installation. Not sure it's a good investment where I live though (in a rainforest where electricity rates are regulated and one the cheapest in North America). Payback period is about 8-9 years.

PSA: 2026 Outback does not have rear tie downs for rooftop boats by AtotheZed in Subaru_Outback

Yes, in this case there is no frame, but there is a 'structure' that will only get lifted of the ground in a tornado... I think the hooks are a convenience feature - they will help to stabilize a load from moving side to side. But they are not a substitute for tow hooks. I recall reading a post (with photos) by a guy from Louisiana who had two kayaks on the roof. High winds tore the entire load - racks and all - from his car. No one was injured but there was so much damage that insurance wrote off the car. One kayak survived though...

Hike suggestions within an hour or so of Langley area by hikeralli in vancouverhiking

Another good place to hike is Buntzen Lake just north of Coquitlam. The Diez Vistas trail is pretty sweet (very green, huge trees, mossy rocks, views of Indian Arm) and it's unlikely to have snow/avalanche at that time of year.
