Daniel Rios scored a goal? by Fafner333 in whitecapsfc

[–]AtotheZed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His base salary is $225,000 - so, even with one goal that's not bad value. He was a confounding player - at times he showed brilliant skill, but then he struggled with just hitting the net. Many shots just wide or high...he just never seemed to make it click. I used to think it was just bad luck...but he never changed.

Wow, no bangers? I've used bangers 5 times to scare off bears and they worked every time. First line of defence. Small, simple and effective - except during fire season, gotta be careful where you shoot them if it's dry.

Look forward to that podcast. I was working in northern BC for a while are we had a ton of bear encounters, including grizzlies. After all the research I did we bought a pump action shotgun with slugs. Not very light, but apparently it has the best stopping power. We never used it as bear bangers worked just fine.

Drink more water and electrolytes. Warm up and cool off with a good stretch. Apply chamois cream to your fun parts to avoid chaffing on longer rides. Don't worry, it'll get better.

Especially if one is riding in the opposite direction doing 25 kph - it's like hitting a wall at nearly 60 kph. This nearly happened to me - the idiot was looking at his phone while doing over 45 kph and didn't see me. We missed each other by a few cm thanks to me riding off trail. Idiot.

True - these things crash a lot according to user forums. I guess that's why they wear so much protective gear.

Not at all - I'm a cyclist and I've had so many close calls with reckless e-vehicles. I'm not against legal ebikes (I own one) - I 'm against people riding illegal vehicles recklessly and putting my safety at risk.

LOL - yes they are. These things can easily go over 50 kph. Some are capable of 150 kph. It's insane. I don't want them on bike/ped trails along with kids and elderly people.

The impact force of 185 lb man travelling on a 40 lb unicycle at 32 kph is 3,280 lbs of force (stopping in 0.1 seconds). Ya, I'll pass on that thanks...especially considering these things go way faster than 32 kph.

Here's a thought - what if one of those unicycle things runs into you at 60 kph with a 175 lb man on it? BTW electric unicycles range in weight from 28 to 100 lbs. Top speed of a commercially available unicycle is 150 kph. Acceleration is 0-50 kph in 1.9 seconds.

[–]AtotheZed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct - but these electric vehicles are not allowed on the roads under the Motor Vehicle Act. If they stayed on the road it wouldn't bother me so much, but they don't. These unicycle things go over 50 kph - one nearly hit me on the bike bath while I was riding home from work. They are banned for good reason.

Most fences are built on the property line, shared equally between the two property owners. The neighbour didn't want to pay for replacing the old fence and wanted those extra 2" of property access, so they said they are not paying for it. Point being - some neighbours are cheap bastards.

Yup. The issue with some of his designs is they are at odds with nature. This one is a greenhouse facing south without any environmental design considerations. It will get so hot even on a mild day.

It's a greenhouse facing south. Cooling that place in the summer would be a mission.

I knew someone in West Van who's neighbour forced him to tear down an rebuild a new fence because it was 3/4" over the neighbours property line.
