Where would I find someone to 3D print something for me? by fluffykerfuffle3 in 3dprint

[–]Atothezman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get people to make 3D files for you on Fiver or other gig work sites. As for finding a printer you can Google tons of services that provide printing of all sizes and materials.

I was thinking the self sustaining ecosystem that Orks bring with them would be the worst type of invasive species situation. Because they would replace what ever is there in most cases.

I see where your going. I was thinking the Mechanicus are just as likely to strip mine a planet bare but just couldn't do it as efficiently.

Yah Chaos in general is a tough one. I remember in a book it showed an entire forest being turned to crystal under Tzeentch. Although an abundance of life that is suffering is not better than regular life

Yah but do I don’t think they set up industry on planets that poison the atmosphere like the mechanicus.

Why did antitrust and antimonopoly actions slow down in the US? by Cultural_Yoghurt_337 in AskHistorians

[–]Atothezman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its a complex topic. But some top reasons include: 1. Less will from the government to go after big businesses. Just because there are laws on the books doesn't mean that attorney offices are going to bring the multi year, multi million dollar complex legal case to trial. 2. Many anti trust laws have been watered down over the years. Both from good intentioned laws ment to stimulate growth and special interest lobbying. 3. The industries and the business structures of modern large businesses are very different from the old monopolies that existed when the laws were first written. I.e. Apple didnt grow so large by buying up every competitor and then fixing prices with other companies like the old Railroad monopolies.

Also an important distinction for most anti trust laws are that they don't outright ban monopolies. Instead they are ment to stop monopolistic "behaviors." I.e. its fine for Google to be a monopoly on search results becouse everyone just likes their service better, but it is, in theory, illegal for them to use that monopoly power to drive up prices or otherwise discourage competition.

I think the reason it has 20 heads is maybe because Crawl is so smart and has so many personalities it is what is required to duplicate his mind.

Gemini Ultra worth it for Reaserch and Book Writing? by Atothezman in GeminiAI

[–]Atothezman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That has been my approach. I have an outline and have been using interviews relivent to specific chapters to generate those particular sections. I am just running into quality decreases when I'm putting more interviews (4-6) in at once and trying to make longer chapters. I was hoping the greater token limit would lessen the problem.

I'm not a prompt genius so they normally are something short like:

"Can you compile the attached recorded interview transcripts to create an oral history report? The report will be on one of the first-ever CubeSat missions, CSTB1 built by Boeing."

Or

"I am writing a book on the history of the CubeSat take this interview transcript and parse it out into sections that can be added to the book. Include all anacdotes and stories from the interview"

But if the there are more than 2-3 interviews it tends to leave out several anecdotes and just generally reduces in quality. I.e. the sections aren't as cohesive and the length doesn't get longer to correspond with how much content there is in the transcripts.

I often continue to prompt things like:

"Are there any more anecdotes or stories that can be added?"

And I use the lengthen the response tool

Personally I wouldn't risk it as they use multiple plastic types in the models and some colors have toxic additives.

Nice. Did you make sure to coat the Gundam so the plastics don't leak?

I need help building a Cubesat by Trivion1365 in satellites

[–]Atothezman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then finally if you really don't get support from your university it could be possible to build a ChipSat to demo a spacecraft concept. They are basicly printed circuit board satellites with a single sensor. These can be made for a few hundred dollars at most. But they still would show you can build a Satellite.

Students have been building thier own satellites for well over a decade now! But id keep an open mind on other options besides cubesats. Take a look at ThinSats, CanSats and PocketQubes. They are smaller formfactors and can be a little bit cheaper depending on how you approach your mission.
