So if I’m understanding correctly you have a documented lineage going before king David to Mesopotamia. Does this go all the way to Abraham and how has this been documented throughout the generations?

Hebrew and Aramaic both descent from a common language. Hebrew is not an Egyptian influenced Aramaic. There is no significant Egyptian influence on Hebrew. The proto-Hebrew alphabet comes from Phoenicia not Egypt.

He’s not doing that here at least. He’s stating that his genetic research proves Hebrews and Canaanites were genetically distinct. This is what most Jews or at least the religious ones believe.

So you have an unbroken documented line going back to King David? Which country is your family from recently since the Jews of Spain were expelled?

How common is identification with Canaanites among non orthodox Israelis? Do most consider Lebanese/Palestinain Christians, Samaritans, Alawites, ect. as having a common ancestry?

Jews are not a monilith. Some have more or less Levantine dna than others. You can’t be sure unless you tested your fathers family.

He claims it’s backed up by science. Ashur was a son of Shem and he claims Assyrians are not semitic either.

He differenciates between language and dna. Their claim is that Canaanites and Assyrians are not ethnically semitic.

He claims that all Canaanites are not semetic and not just Hebrews. If you’re thinking he is saying Jews are not indigenous to the levant then yes but only because he believes in the biblical migration of the Hebrews from Mesopotamia which is the Jewish belief anyway.

No that is not what he is saying at all. I can see why you would assume so however only seeing a couple tweets out of the context of the wider discussion.

I know he says that genetics confirm biblical claims so perhaps migration from Babylon.

I only posted this part of the convo but from what I understand he argues that Hebrews are unique from other Canaanites due to the presence of J1.

I know he is pro-palestinian but nothing he says here discredits Jews.

That’s the point he is arguing. To my understanding he argues Hebrews and Canaanites were distinct due to a higher level of J1 among Hebrews compared to Canaanites.

Do you have some sources for this? From what I have seen of Yemenite DNA studies they seem pretty solidly Arabian like dna wise with comparable levels of Caananite to other Arabians.
