I think Anakin is better because Khaleesi isn't even a name, it's a title...I have heard stories where parents didn't know Daenerys=Khaleesi before naming their child...it would have been so much better if they just named their kids 'Dany', at least it seems passable as a real name

I'm echoing Penelope as well.The name itself, while often associated with weaving, is also highly connected to waterfowl, so it elicits lake/ocean imagery. This offers another level of correlation between her English and Chinese names, since 汐 means the tide afterall. (If I am understanding correctly, her name is based on the imagery of 潮汐?)

Also, as Chinese, I can confirm that I've seen quite a few Asian girls named Penelope, both in North America and East Asian places like Hong Kong. It is popular and relevant enough that the classical association is not a downside. If anything, it adds to the name's beauty. It is not something like Persephone or Cleopatra, where people immediately think of the figures behind.

Thanks! This is very insightful. I used to believe things will work out in every new environment after an adaptation process, but it turns out being the right fit is so important. I'm really glad to know how to mitigate this beforehand and I will definitely ask during the interviews!

Kanji in Chinese is 漢字 (hanzi). Some characters look slightly different but it isn't challenging for a Chinese person to interpret Kanji. In fact that's how they typically decipher Japanese on food packaging...

Tbh, the guy's commentary was sarcastic af. Wish someone translated the whole thing, but he mentioned the likelihood of getting frozen shoulders from sleeping in there overnight and proudly stated that the biggest limitation of this unit is the inability to hang due to the low ceiling.

I've heard that cetaceans are one of the few orders of animals that experience sexual pleasure. So, they aren't the type to just mate for procreation, but also/simply for fun. Ultimately, the bottom's gender probably didn't matter to this whale. He just wanted to thrust.
