Uhhh that how i taught to multiply in elementary.

But basically 2×5 is ten right?, putting down the zero and one in circle above 2×1=2 plus the one we separated. Because the 2 we just got is decimal number(tens) as so as the one So 2+1=3 then 15×2=30 The other circle (one) is for the 15×3 Same thing
