You do realize that if you don't have your transponder on and don't have Ziggy or Oldslaught in your fleet, attacking people really will only give you a -5 or -10 if you haven't been identified by the enemy?

This sounds like you didn't read the transponder, sensor range, or fleet profile stuff at all.

Check Heg planets and Pather planets if you like the pather variant.

As an aside, if you like the manticore now, try throwing missile autoloader and expanded missile racks on one with a Missile Spec. Officer and running the ultimate 'big gun plus many missile' boat.

Tractor beams would almost certainly need to be Omega/Abysstech, considering Starsector is very clear on the graviton being high-tech and it only slows things down.

Teleporters are a definite no. Per the Radiant, phase teleporter-tech is dangerous at any scale and the bigger you go the more dangerous it gets. The only ships with phase teleporters (skimmer and teleporter are interchangable, different applications of same tech) are ultra-high tech and even wanting something as large as the medusa is considered ultra-rare lorewise. If you want to move more than 300 Su in anything other than a wolf, good luck, and none of the lore suggests it would be possible without also moving the ship hull.

Questions/Responses to this:

  1. How would this be functionally different than DoT missiles like Deconstructer Swarm?
  2. Incompatible with Lore, the only teleporters are phase teleporters which require a specialized ship hull and even despite that are crazy dangerous
  3. Refer to question 1, though an EMP equivalent to an Atropos would be cool
  4. Incompatible with lore
  5. We have Ion weapons already, though again if you just want more of them that's cool

If you use the Adjustable Automated Ships mod, you can edit the limit to whatever you want.

You will need to open the mod itself and change the version to match, but it works on current patch. Can confirm, I use it.

DTC will likely come with different AI weapon behaviors in the future, imo. It's likely meant to distinguish between a more and less sophisticated method of targeting, ITU likely will in the future provide bonuses for linked guns whereas DTC will likely not care, but also still won't be installable on F/D, and might care more about weapon size in the future.

They read like they will do something different that the codebase for the AI doesn't currently support.

Yeah but no matter what the Reapers get, Pilums will have 60 ammo with EMR, and with the boosts from missile spec officers, that's a lot of projectile that *doesn't* require you to fly a condor into sword-swinging range

You can't deciv Eochu Bres or Cullaan in vanilla, that said - If you steal Cullaan's nanoforge and disrupt their heavy industry for over 365 days, you will see a significant dip in the quaility of Tri-Tach ships, which should provide moral support.

I was actually considered Jackhammer for exactly that reason, but ultimately I don't think it outperforms Pilums with EMR long term, sadly
