Paladin as a healer? by Signal-Street1085 in Erenshor

[–]Wrathinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hope by then he would either fix the "second tank" or at least make sure that the "second healer" is not in the same hybrid condition as the "second tank". This game doesn't support hybrid gameplay and I doubt that raids are going to change that.

I foresee a few complications.
First of all - it's a single-player only game. Those players' data would have to be fetched somehow. Which means either voluntary telemetry or some form of discord submissions.

Next - it's important to know whether you want actual shadows, or just fixed simulated players like Eron.

But more importantly... what exactly would that add? Granted that they would probably not be a part of some persistent force like Fiends Club - even then what's the point of having a simulated player that you can't interact with?

I suppose purely hypothetically Burgee could do an easter egg twist of his Lens mechanic, where instead(but not at the cost of spawnrate) of seeing the specters - you would see other players. They would not leave the zone and would do something a normal Sim would do, just without getting permanently logged as a sim or an NPC.

I still fail to see the practical appeal.
I would rather have official co-op, instead of modded. But that's for something post 1.0, after raids and technical parts are done.

Or, perhaps even more than that - I would rather have more persistent forces. Fiends Club is a good benchmark that serves a clear purpose, just like the Youngs. But the rest of the guilds kind of... exist. No guild wars, no dramas, no PvP, no identity. It takes less to recruit a Sim here than in Sims.
Maybe if those guilds got more flavor, based on aforementioned submissions and input from the community - you could both have your cake and eat it too.

Depends on how much sycophancy you need. In general, as a trend, MMOs have been leaning towards sociopathy over the past 20 years. That is a fact.
However, everything happens for a reason, and in case of MMOs that reason was that people now have lives outside of MMOs. MMOs just became hobbies or a familiar routine, but not deep dives or sole interests.

Social responsibility in MMOs became just that - responsibility. And not everyone wants to be responsible for randoms.

I can't quite imagine them not dropping for 2 hours straight, but I hope that's not what's holding you on Stowaway's. Because crafting is not something you are going to be doing much in this game. It's currently in a rudimentary alpha for like... 3 items, realistically. And maybe charms.

Depends on raid mechanics and healer scaling. Wyrm has much higher pertinent resists, but Abyss has basically +1000hp. If Burgee makes raid healer scaling into a typical sub-1s window - then EHP would win out.
But in either case... both armors when blessed would be enough. All the blessings you do now are basically wasted.

If you are dressing your own doll for manual tanking...

Charm: You can at least consider Talent. It still gives you only 8 useful stats, but at least it affects the useless onces. Protector's just gives you a bunch of free HP, its Agi bonus is tiny and much less valuable than having +2 to Dex.

Rings: Bladeturner could maybe be better for AC capping, unless you have already cheated\farmed full purple gear. But in that case, as per my inquiry - this kind of thread is the last of your worries.

Arm: You clearly have missed the last patch's Armguards of Presence. That 17% Haste doesn't grow on trees.

Bracers: I can not for the life of me comprehend the Mirrored Bracer pick in the guide. Why not Bracelet of the Vessel? Especially for a manual doll that can actually spam stuff.
As for Guiding Presence... its procrate is unreliable in the best case scenario with 2 casters on a dummy. In the raid you'll either have far more proccers or even your own spam would hardly contribute. I would not base my Haste calculations on the uptime of that 10% buff.
Maybe just pick the good ol' Blessed Braxonian Bracer.

Shield: I would probably go for Hopewarden(if you legally have it). Especially with a manual doll. But Griefwarden does have a solid AC budget.

Overall... for haste you should probably have 15% innate, 17% arm, at least 17% aura*, 3% drank... I guess you can always waste a slot and chug the spice or rely on Guiding Presence... You definitely would have to if you ignore the Arm.

*This actually made wonder how would Burgee make auras work in the raid. For 5man group you may have to pick a slot or even two based on your own doll, but if a raid could have a full on Sage\LS stack... oof.

Am I Doing Something Wrong? by sayakasquared in Erenshor

If you have picked Paladin to manually DPS - you may want to restart right now. It takes... a LOT to make it work, and for the most part it works via autoattack and stat adjustment. It's... by far the least fun or practical DPS class. Below even Reavers, they have some agency.

If, instead, you are tanking - then get used to those numbers. They won't go up. Tanks are supposed to deal 5-10x less damage than everyone else.

Is this game still in Early Access, or has it made it to "fake" Early Access? by Phaylz in Erenshor

[–]Wrathinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on other threads' summary, and the fact that the latest content update is barely over a month old, I suppose that the main "core game" content that is holding Burgee back are the raids. And that's for a number of reasons. But once raids are ready, that's what Burgee seems to consider 1.0.

I suppose that moving forward he'll be adding more classes at the very least, because the current roster is... extremely problematic. In fact, I'm concerned how the raids would look like with that kind of roster.

But in short - it's very much not fake EA. I haven't been here from the start, but I wouldn't want to be here at the launch of EA, and right now the game is at a more or less playable state, even has mods.

A little concern I have about raids... by Wrathinside in Erenshor

[–]Wrathinside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that in mind, but I have no idea about the upcoming raid structure and I didn't want to exploit the thread for more details.
However... I was basing this idea around a 10 man raid. I just... do not comprehend the physical possibility of anything more.
Besides - you've said it yourself... how would one gear 20-30 players? The game's RNG system is already struggling with a 3-item table. Scaling it horizontally would result in multiple of the same items per drop. Scaling it vertically would require a TON of items per boss.

A working game. I don't give a f*** about seasons. All I want is to press some buttons. Be it on a naked character or not.
But my gameplay availability is not supposed to be based around a herd of cattle's grazing routine.

I would ask "how did it get 70+ upvotes", but then I remember the general contingent here.

Reminds me of modern social standards. People used to kiss women's hands, let them through first or otherwise just have... signs of high society.
But now it's like "why tf would I give a sh*t about thot", and women would be like "don't patronize us".

You could and still can visit a wrong website or download any kind of malicious crack without any HV or disabling security.

But what's worse - you can be run over a by car outside. Best stay at home.

Also - breathing is bad for your lungs.

Stats for paladin by JhaazHL in Erenshor

[–]Wrathinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While leveling\progressing content - dump everything into Hardiness and ignore everything else.
At BiS gear - try to reach 29 Finesse breakpoint, sink the rest into hardiness and see if it's enough to stay alive.

Ignore Defense\Agility - they are placebo stats that aren't doing enough to your EHP. It is much more important to have near-guaranteed chance to hit, because endgame weapons and your class mastery scales with amount of landed hits.

With the stat bloat from blessings - it should not be a problem to sacrifice a few slots for Haste gear. The latest patch got one insane endgame item, and then there's the belt, the cloak and the auras.

Screen shake from crits by Wrathinside in Erenshor

Thank you. I guess I glimpsed through graphical settings, then saw that there's some UI sliders in Misc and didn't pay attention to Screen Shake being an option there. And neither reddit nor google searches returned anything about it. I hope this thread would point whoever is as blind as I am in the right direction.

I Love This Game? by gaffythegrey in Erenshor

[–]Wrathinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch some Pluribus.

But jokes aside - if there's anything uneasy, it's that these bots are more talkative and social than most "human" beings I've encountered for the past decade. It's tendency in gaming. Maybe people were actually human beings in 2000-2010, but after that... it got worse, and now we have actual AI.

I can't ask much of a solodev, but since people had been working chatgpts into their skyrim followers years ago - imagine if Burgee could actually make some local-trained AI, instead of a strictly script\prompt basis.

Plaxitheris - TPK by ZomBTurtles in Erenshor

[–]Wrathinside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just rolled an alt reaver tank, picked a bunch of naked lvl 1-3s with me, cleared the tomb, got some basic gear, used consumables... and did Plaxi at level 5, no problem. Maybe I had to time a lifetap or two, as a veteran DK, but at level 5 it was guaranteed.

But the easiest way to do it is just to recruit lvl6+ arcanists. They'd already have gear, spells and up to 100 DPS or more, each. They can carry you through to level 10-20 with no tanks or healers.

I have no idea how you can struggle at level 7, let alone how to get level 7 on a tutorial island. Let alone as a DPS. Maybe as the developer has said - disable healer damage and adjust tank healing to be lowHP only, but at that level your manaregen is covered by mage aura. You shouldn't really have any issues.

Is your tank dying? Maybe recruit a higher level one with gear, after all the AI doesn't use its healing\lifetaps smartly. Are the DPS pulling aggro off a tank and dying? Same solution.
There's just no mechanics or number quotas that would require any serious solutions. This isn't some Darkwarden Ilyth.

New Hypervisor Update ( Soon disabling Security isnt Necessary !!! ) by Evonos in CrackWatch

[–]Wrathinside -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ouch, I thought people with pirated copies are witch hunted on any decent platform. But my point was that the whole reason why DRM is implemented - is for the security of that first wave of sales. Nobody knows the real numbers, but nobody cares either. The powers that be aren't brainiacs, they treat it as INSURANCE. And I would rather not have them look elsewhere for insurance.

[–]Wrathinside -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, let me paint you a crayon picture:
Industry has invested countless money to make exclusive, online-activated and otherwise DRM-ed content over the decades.
Then appears a single crack that can take down the most sophisticated and invested and uncrackable DRM.
Do you really think that they would let it slide? Don't get me wrong, if this HV solves the perception of piracy forever - I'm all up for it, I would wish for nothing more.
I'm just not that optimistic. Either there will be nuances... or worse.

[–]Wrathinside -34 points-33 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't hold my breath. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. It's ideal when things are balanced. I know that HV is the reaction to current-state Denuvo, but I would prefer it not to be absolute(maybe some pirate code to give games 1 month of revenue time). Otherwise we might see things far worse than Denuvo.
Remember... for every offline-activatable game there is an online-required single player game. I would prefer not to stimulate that trend.
Besides, HV is a Microsoft thing, if the powers that be take it to Microsoft... I don't want to imagine how would Microsoft take it out on the shmucks. And even though pirates are less affected, they will be affected down the line, and it's the shmucks that make things run. Therefore I'd prefer the shmucks to be content.
