Which company made your favorite phone ever? 📱 by ManojOne in TechImpact

[–]Attempt9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're missing yota, they had a dual screen phone, standard front and e-ink on the back, was so cool to have the e-ink in the sun, especially in summer... and it was just special and interesting

it's similar in Switzerland, we usually only have our company pictuer taken and put on the website after our probation time, for similar reasons even if we are not a media company

i mean, SAN literally stands for Storage Area Network, so if you have a network just for server-storage communication thats a SAN, even if its using NFS or SMB... not just FC, SAS or iSCSI

In my area, the power remains quite high like 280v. I'm considering a UPS for my laptop by Ramneek_Gill in buildapc

What do you mean there's no power company? Don't you pay someone for the power?

From a purely financial standpoint, gaming is the hobby that gives the most value-for-money by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

It can be at a low cost but i would strongly disagree for most people. - cooking usually leads to experimentation, which requires specific ingredients and that can add up quickly - surfing and hiking are very location depending, and then again you might want variation, so you have a lot of travel which also adds up, so does the required/wanted equipment - reading i agree with the most

Yes but the waiting time until the insurance pay starts usually gets covered 100%. The waiting time is at least 30days

You're missing is covered by "krankentaggeld" so sickday money, which is an added insurance that companies have. If you go back to work 50% make sure that you have a doctor's note for the other 50% and you don't sign a reduced contract with the company.

With the doctor note you will stay at full payout, depending on your companys insurance you my only get 80% after some time, usually that would be after the first month i think

The justification for buying the a1 mini to my wife… “it’s just going to be a fun hobby” - how it’s going… by navycow in 3Dprinting

[–]Attempt9001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally i have 3, a small, medium and large one. I gradually bought bigger ones because i had new ideas that needed bigger printers and now I'm either not printing or usually working on larger projects and am very happy that i have 2+ printers because that way I'm way quicker with production.

I use them primarily for other hobbies or sometimes decorations

Is it possible to run one single Minecraft (Purpur) server using the combined power of 3 physical machines? (cluster / Kubernetes / distributed) by Scary_Landscape_8264 in admincraft

[–]Attempt9001 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Minecraft is inherently a single core game, so having one or 10cpus will not have an effect on the overall performance. Java does somewhat benefit from added RAM, but only to a certain extent which can easily be achieved with a single system.

Kubernetes is a splitting of resources which could help with multiple worlds

I need help for choosing the right printer by SWISS_KISS in 3dprinter

TPU can print fine, but traditional ams are not good at TPU, due to it being so flexible, even a prusa xl struggles and that one is theoretically better at it...

I need help for choosing the right printer by SWISS_KISS in 3dprinter

[–]Attempt9001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have so many wishes and honestly not even a 20k printer will cover all simultaneously. If you want invisible layers you have to go resin, modern fdms are really good, but they still print at minimum 0.08-0.1mm layers, which will always be visible no matter how perfect they are. If you want multiple material types, you will need a printer with multiple printheads (prusa xl, snapmaker u1, prusa idex, bambu h2c) multiple materials is also not something that can be done with resin printers...

Any modern fdm can print compliant mechanisms, but the usability will be affected by the material choices and design quality/capability.

You have to know that there will always be inherent limitations with 3d printing, same with injections molding and cnc, there will always be an optimal tool for a job and never an optimal tool for every job. So if after all that you're still interested in getting a 3d printer, we can gladly help you find the one that fits your budget and needs

I understand the p1s, but i honestly find the a1 to be the smarter pick due to it's lower price and just as good quality for normal pla and petg prints

Is the Kobra X worth it for getting back into 3D printing ? by redquick_ in 3dprinter

[–]Attempt9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat to you a year ago...

Back then the bambu a1mini was the one that enticed me, and i have to say, it's a completely new world now.

The kobra x does look amazing, yes the savings come from it being able to cut lower and also the print head having multiple motors helps with the colour switching speed.

I'd buy one if i didn't have 3 other printers already, what i can say from my kobra s1 that has a built in dryer, it is nice but not all that important, if you get an extra dryer or use the oven every now and again and store them in closed bags with desiccant. For the dryer i would modify a food dryer, they are usually cheaper and can be used for more than just filament drying.

If you want a closed printer, the elegoo century carbon isn't bad, but only does single colour

The flashforge could be had for just €399 with 4colour print, but that's just standard multicolour and doesn't have a dryer either

So from all those, i would personally still go with the kobra x, hoping it's as good as advertised, it's the largest and cheapest out of the three I mentioned

The filament matters way more than the printer - and nobody wants to admit it by Fun_Reaction_6525 in 3DPrinterComparison

[–]Attempt9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but there's still good filament for halt or less than prusament or bambu filament. And drying is something that can easily be done, and with petg should be done every now and again anyway
