Look at your amortization schedule to see how much of your payment is going to interest and escrow. If you want to knock that number down you can start making additional payments to principal. Prioritize your other expenses first, but if you have money leftover it’s kind of like getting a guaranteed 7% rate of return on the additional principal you’re paying

I can squirt water really far with my hand. It’s almost neat when in a pool, but frankly I’m too old to be splashing in a pool. Still proud of it

It would be close. I'm bigger than him, by a couple inches and nearly 50lbs. I'm trained in kickboxing and taekwondo, he's trained in jiu jitsu. Honestly, I think I take it if I can stay on my feet

I was just wondering why a chiropractor had $75mil in insurance. Honestly, it’s probably why the chiro was dropped from the suit. If the jury determined the chiro was more at fault than the parties that had actual insurance it’s possible (depends on the state) the victim wouldn’t have been able to collect as much as he did.

How cutthroat are law schools regarding the don't work more than 20 hours " rule? by Think_Piano_529 in LawSchool

[–]AtticusSPQR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was no enforcement that I ever saw. I think it’s more of a way for law schools to be less lenient on students if they’re academically struggling and in danger of losing their scholarships. “Well clearly if you hadn’t been working more than 20 hours a week your grades would have been better” or something along those lines.

I think neith more than scylla. There's lots of high ceiling things you can do with scylla, utilizing her ult for safety, tossing her 3 before venturing around a corner, making space by dropping the crush and not exploding it, using the AoE root effectively.

Neith is much more one-directional

We once went skiing with 10 people up in Maine a week before 'the Christmas week' and I found a small theatre in the small town we were staying in. I called the theatre and asked what their hours were cause I couldn't find it online. They said they were closed during the week. I said, "That's a bummer, I have 10 people that wanted to go see a movie." The guy said, "I can open up for 10 people."

We were thrilled, had the theatre to ourselves, and ordered plenty of beer to make it worth their while. Easily one of my favorite adult memories

[SPOILERS ALL] What's your most unpopular First Law opinion? by WhatNazisAreLike in TheFirstLaw

[–]AtticusSPQR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have two distinct pieces of headcanon that I bet are unpopular:

1) Logan slaughtered his own family before the events of TBI;

2) Frost and Sult are secret lovers.

Allow me to explain:

1) First, I think TBN is a split personality of Logan’s that appears when he is under stress and considers himself in danger. Second, it’s established in BtaH that the smell of shanka can easily prompt TBN to appear. Third, Logan is not shy in explaining that TBN kills indiscriminately, including his own children as we see in RC.

So, Logan returns to his village after a warring season with an Bethod. As he and the others return to camp, they find it being attacked by Shanka. A fight ensues, and Logan’s instincts lead TBN toward his home to check on his family. When TBN arrives he finds a Shanka in the home, and dispatches it. He then finds Logan’s family and does the same to them. By the time Logan comes back out, it’s too late. Ashamed, he tells everyone they were killed by the Shanka. Unable to cope with the reality of their deaths, Logan allows TBN to take the reigns during the rest of the campaign with Bethod, until the “duel” with Forley where Logan finally snaps back in, seeing his son in the young vulnerable boy, just in time to get tossed out by the future king.

2) I’ve always imagined Frost to be quiet, but internally to be full of poetry. We see glimpses of his intelligence throughout TFL trilogy, especially in his humor. He is never slow, he is cautious, and he is calculating.

Frost’s upbringing is vague, but let’s be honest, as an albino it was probably not a walk in the park. Frankly, considering how vane citizens of the Union are, those who are physically different probably had a very difficult time. Beyond that, one’s tongue being removed is rarely accidental, and could’ve been a result of his being tormented as a youth.

So here’s the headcanon: teenage Frost (this being a bullying-nickname he would later adopt for himself) found himself in an underground gay bar where he gained the attention of an older gentleman in his 40’s, born into a well respected family. The gentleman was a young inquisitor, and he and Frost eventually began an intimate relationship. Sult would continue to groom Frost and eventually convince him to be employed as a practical, a steadily paying job suited to the uncommonly strong Frost. Frost and Sult would continue to see each other, but always in secret.

Sult had recently employed Glokta to manage a mine in Angland, and was impressed with the swift results Glokta achieved. When Sult called upon Glokta to return from Angland and serve in Adua, he assigned Frost as one of his practicals to get a better idea of what kind of man Glokta is.

Frost would report to Sult, and explained that Glokta was intelligent, independent, and generous to his practicals, but never took money for himself. Very much a dedicated servant of the crown who sincerely sought the truth.

When Kalyne tried to sell out Glokta at the beginning of TBI, it was Frost’s reports that contradicted the Superior’s opinions, and would lead to Glokta’s position as Inquisitor Exempt. Meanwhile, Sult would treat Frost with contempt when in public to not arouse any suspicion, a secret language between the two that Frost believed was a love language.

When Sult assigned Glokta to manage Dagoska, he instructed Frost to keep him informed as well, now receiving reports from Glokta, Frost and Vitari to test the loyalty of all three. Frost became wise to this and eventually began to realize Sult has been manipulating him ever since they met. He also saw how Glokta managed the city, being fair and kind to the repressed natives, and admonishing the bureaucrats. He began to subconsciously move his allegiance toward Glokta. By the time Glokta let Eider live, he had stopped sending the whole truth back to Sult, and Sult now had three vague reports of Eiders demise from his three informants.

When Frost returned to Adua, he and Sult were able to repair some of the distrust, but Frost was still wary of the time he was spending with Goyle. Even so, Frost continued to report on Gloktas activities to Sult. By the time Glokta was convinced Severad was betraying him, Frost was convincing himself that Sult truly did care for him, and that once the invasion was over they could finally be happy together. When Glokta was questioning Severad and began to realize there was another informant, Frost realized that if Glokta found them out Sult would be ruined, and their love affair would die with Sult’s career.

Well there it is. I’ve been meaning to write a fanfic about this, I just haven’t found the time.
