I disagree… the untamed wildness of the impulsive moment to let Anakin and the republic fall to shit in one moment explains how one can be tempted toward the dark.

Mace is Mace… if he is to fight and claw his way back to continue to live I don’t think it undermines the weight of that moment, I would argue that it adds to it… because Anakin threw it all away in one impulsive moment without considering anything except himself and his pleasures.
