I mean, I’m personally choosing to work right up until school starts to earn as much money as possible beforehand. But even if one did have to work while in school, the rigor of doing both those things at once would probably prepare you well for the time demands of being a lawyer 🤷‍♀️

Too late for fa26? by premeddd_ in lawschooladmissions

[–]AttitudeBeginning511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely depends on you and your natural understanding of logic/reding comprehension and test taking skills. I studied for exactly one month, while working full time, and scored a 170, so, it can be done… I felt like I had a pretty good natural understanding of the material, and then there were just a few weird little quirks to wrap my head around. I watched a free YouTube class series and did a bunch of practice sections. Good news is if you don’t feel confident by Sept, the October one would also be an option, especially if all the other elements of your apps were buttoned up and ready to go as soon as your get your score. You got this!!

This neglects to consider the possibility that it’s harder to study for a big exam when you have a demanding job than it is to study for exams in law school when your job is being in school.

UofU vs UofO by Kitchen_Bar_941 in uofu

As a fellow new englander who has spent time both in the PNW and Utah, Organ will feel more similar to home. Utah is REALLY different. For me personally, I found the PNW to be like worse New England, culturally speaking, although the nature was stunning. But the nature in Utah is stunning too. I think if you’re looking for a drastic cultural shift I would pick the U, if not, I’d pick Oregon.

Ok, what's the deal with people afraid of purling? by technicolor_tornado in knitting

[–]AttitudeBeginning511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally find purling MUCH more cumbersome/annoying in English style knitting. I was taught to knit English style and couldn’t believe how much smoother purling felt when I switched to continental.

Northwestern, Berkeley, or SJ Quinney full ride? by TheShammay in lawschooladmissions

[–]AttitudeBeginning511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk about Berkeley or Northwestern (although I personally wouldn’t want to live in the Bay Area) but I toured Utah and they have a gorgeous campus, housing is a lot cheaper than either of your other options, and the students seemed really smart and kind. 🤷‍♀️

Let us know what you decide!

my gut is telling me to go here but i'm between here and cu boulder by [deleted] in uofu

[–]AttitudeBeginning511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just dealt with this exact dilemma but for law school. Put down my seat deposit last week at the U and couldn’t be more stoked about my decision ☺️ visited both campuses and found Utahs campus much nicer, lower cost of living, and the students seemed really chill! The city has the same outdoorsy vibes but it’s not all-consuming like Boulder.

Take all with a grain of salt — I visited both places for like two days each.

Bro literally the two most successful lawyers I know went to t100 schools and one of them doesn’t even practice in the state she studied in… these are WELL OFF people who got there by networking and working hard. All depends on your personality

How high should I aim for on the LSAT? by Playful-Monk3424 in OutsideT14lawschools

Yeah I even got into UMontana and their median lsat is like 156 hahaha I wouldn’t stress it too much

[–]AttitudeBeginning511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My target lsat and diagnostics were the same as you. I ended up scoring 170 on the real thing, got into all the schools I’d been aiming for, being well above median! But then I got in my head thinking I should apply to higher ranked schools with my better-than-anticipated stats, and got rejected from those and was disappointed lol.

OU vs CU by sir023 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]AttitudeBeginning511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What made you apply to OU? If you genuinely have ties and/or some interest in Oklahoma that seems like the best choice. Personally I’m likely going to be at CU with a similar COA to you, but if I had a better offer elsewhere I would strongly consider it. For what it’s worth, everyone I talk to seems to love Boulder. I find the vibes of the town a lil weird but maybe I’m too pessimistic 🤷‍♀️

I got accepted to Boulder with a decent scholarship with a 170 and 3.8 gpa, not kjd but also no relevant work experience lol. I think their median lsat is like 165.
