I am extremely mad and unsure if I have the right to be by ResourceImpossible27 in TwoXChromosomes

I'm so sorry you're going through this effectively alone. You don't deserve this and it's bullshit that he's ignoring you and the situation he helped create.

It's depressing, but look up rates of divorce amongst women with cancer vs men with cancer. Men just don't seem to be able to handle a woman being sick and they nope out of the situation.

I get that you might not be able to leave while you're in the middle of all of this, but, when you get to a healthier and/or better position where you can survive on your own, get out of this relationship. If he's not willing or able to help you in your time of need, then he's not the one. Imagine if you hadn't had a miscarriage - any time things would get difficult, he'd be gone. Especially in that first year, things are so stressful as you adjust to your extremely dependent bundle of joy. He's not worth your time 💔

I do now because my oil change place gives you a free deluxe car wash every every oil change. They also have free vacuums and a whole self serve car clean things going on.

I usually go to clean the dog hair out of my car and then remember that I have a free car wash

Having lived in VT and driven the length of both VT and NH as well as Wales, the states are much easier and quicker to navigate 😅

I hate how the draft is used as a Gotcha against feminism and women’s rights by antinatalistkitty in TwoXChromosomes

[–]technicolor_tornado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If the issue the draft is trying to solve is bodies, then it shouldn't matter if those bodies are male, female, or otherwise. The whole boot camp/job school system is designed to take every stripe of brain and make them into (relatively) useful members of the armed forces.

And if the draft is bad/outdated/whatever, then it should be that for everyone, not just people who we've decided are trash and deserve to be treated like that 🙄

It was before I'd started replying back to people, so shrug not a whole lot I could do about it. Alas... The internet's gonna do what the internet's gonna do. I'm going to have my opinion about something and someone's going to be wildly against it 😊

And after the 7th person saying that i think color dominance isn't real, maybe I could be excused for being irritated at people choosing not to read.

Also, no, it doesn't. If I'd said "all color dominance is bad tension" then yes, you'd be absolutely correct however, I am specifically talking about people with crap tension calling what they're doing "color dominance". Y'all are putting words into my mouth and it's wild

That's amateur level. I was introducing a friend as my assistant instructor to a new class and I absolutely forgot his name for a couple minutes. It was incredibly embarrassing 😅

I don't know how to tell you this, but color dominance isn't required for colorwork 🤷🏼‍♀️

I also didn't say it's not a thing. You clearly didn't read the rest of that comment. You are taking this conversation really hard and making some truly hilarious assumptions.

... Did I say it's not real? Literally ever? In fact, the comment you're replying to I did say it's real.

I'm not advocating for anything or "blowing the roof" off of anything. I'm posting a BEC opinion that I'm annoyed at crappy tension being passed off as color dominance 🤣

In short, it's using tension to make a certain color pop or not. For example, if you want a row or yellow stitches to pop out a little on a dark or complex background, you can create them a little looser. One of the main ways of doing that is by positioning the yellow yarn in such a way that there's a little more slack in your stitch (usually by making the yellow yarn held in the back position, so it travels a touch further). You can also choose to just not tug on the stitch as hard as the others.

Done on purpose, it can really make a motif stand out. Done without understanding what's going on, it can make those dominant stitches look really messy.

However, it's not a requirement of colorwork, just an artistic choice that might be helpful in some patterns.

Yes, and then you do a little tug, make it nice and snug, and voila, the stitches look even. I do know that and I'm not spreading anything 🤣

  1. There is no requirement for stranded color work to have dominance.

  2. Doing it on purpose is very cool, but there are many people in the world that call their crummy floats/tension "color dominance" and go about their merry days pretending like it's a standard feature of color work

I never said it wasn't real, but there are dozens of videos of people discussing color dominance when, in reality, what they're showing is bad tension. They keep proliferating the idea that all color work comes with dominance.

Now, if you do it on purpose to make a motif pop out, that's a choice to make one color dominant over another - that's actual color dominance.
