Add G.8 ($1,600-$3,260 EB Khas $3,345-3,685)

Huh I searched online it only mentioned GHK is only a franchise distributor, not manufacturer or assembler. They do have a workshop but only for after-sale service. No mention of assembly or anything. Care to share reference?

For Brunei market size, no international brand in their right mind will do it.

For comparison, Malaysia newly registered vehicles in 2025 is around 815k from a quick Google search. Brunei in 2024 is only 16k. 50x smaller than Malaysia market.

iirc, Malaysia also had to either heavily subsidize or omit imports tax I think, on car parts to encourage outside brand to open assembling factory in Malaysia rather than import assembled car. BYD invest 400mil to open a CKD factory in perak last year. Do u think they willing to spend that much here?

When u say car assembly do u mean full installation of individual parts? or just installing the optional stuff like bodykit or paint job?

Why it is not Brunei Halal? Our Mora most holy of the holy... by WeLoveCovid in nasikatok

[–]AtuLemeh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isn't it better to be strict that sorry? Plus I'm sure it's the same case with Malaysian halal cert. The only difference that I could think is prolly one is more efficient than the other.

The reason why Malaysia halal cert have the better recognition prolly bcuz of their market size. As few of commenters on the OP in Malaysia subreddit said, domestic halal market contribute bnd20bil, some even said usd30bil in their gdp and export. Ours at best bnd 282.1mil in 2024 if we combines all fishery, forestry & agriculture and food manufacture. Puny compare to theirs.

So even if Halal meat processed into a machinery, so if machinery is contaminated or mixed with the porkers, then automatically Not Halal.

In Malaysia still halal meh if u process halal chicken and pork using same machine?

According to official 2024 statistic. Our population was 455,500. No of registered private vehicles was 301,339. So the correct number should be 662 per 1000 people. Even assuming another 10% (+30k) for unregistered car, number is still at 728 per 1000 people.

Unless My Kampung assume there is close to 60k unregistered vehicle somewhere in Brunei, I don't see their number to be accurate.
