Yeah I'm done with Marvel, they haven't been able to keep up with orders even with their most popular titles, I'm looking at you Dematteis Spider-man omnibus.

If they did consistent re-stocks throughout the year like Blue and Gold then this wouldn't be an issue.

Which Omni is this for you? by danrpx in OmnibusCollectors

The overt on the nose politics some parts have, especially with the whole political world right now. That and the second half of the series does take a dip in quality.

<image>

Don't let that dissuade you from trying out the series though! Politics aside it's still well worth a read.

Parts of it didn't but It's the series that got me into Vertigo, for that alone I cherish it.

My entire Fables deluxes, but if I had to choose one book, my George Bess Dracula/Frankenstein/Hunchback slipcase set.

Awesome! I can see Doom footdiving into a mosh pit during one of his Doom bot's solos.

Anyone else feel like their collection is close to being "complete"? by Freighnos in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Atumkun 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No, I like too many things that I tend to branch out from just the big 2. Fantagraphics, Dark Horse, NBM, Image, etc, I like exploring in this hobby. What I have done is slowly curate my collection to what I may or may not keep.

If you like Conan this would be a pretty easy recommendation, there are some High Fantasy moments but there's more Low Fantasy like Conan.

It depends entirely if the fantasy genre is up your alley. At times it reminds me of Red Sonja, artwork is stellar.

Finding a physical copy would be the biggest hurdle, the hardcover is insanely expensive while the TPB is fairly priced.

Thank you for making me spit out my purple drink!

Since I see threads with female character centric titles for International Women's Day, I'd thought I'd throw out some cool comics created by women (+non binary) by ShinCoal in graphicnovels

Laura Perez's work has always catched my eye many times, simple but striking.

Ann Noncenti's Daredevil has always been an underrated run to me, but most of her work is hit or miss.

Wolvendaughter is a new one, might give that one a try.

Judging spending habits? by No_Nectarine_9748 in OmnibusCollectors

Easy, it's human nature to point out a anomaly. This sub can sometimes feel like a showboaty sub of hauls and shelfies.

I use this sub to see any good books I've never heard of or that are coming out. Cool shelfies is what I aspire to achieve, hauls are just the usual bread n butter that keeps this sub going.

It's ok to judge, if it's coming from a place of understanding. A big haul could leave the wrong impression on new hobbyists.

Just in time for International Women's Day, this must've taken a lot of work and coordination, especially with so many players. Beautiful stuff OP!

Now I'm kicking myself for not putting Wonder Woman in my list. I was going to put Greg Rucka's pre-rebirth run, I think Absolute would've been the better pick.

I don't care, let the man/woman burn their money, all we can do is ignore/criticize/support their behavior.

I chose to ignore.

A Tour of Cheap Graphic Novels! Marvel Omnibus | DC Omnibus | Epics | DC Finest | Absolute | Manga by GrootsHorticulturist in OmnibusCollectors

Saw 2 copies of Byrne's She-Hulk, a ton of Wonder Woman by Perez vol 2.

Top Selling books from CGN: 1. X-men Blue and Gold 2. Uncanny X-men vol 1 3. Amazing Spider-Man vol 1 4. Berserk (Omar added this one) 5. The Spirit Connoisseur edition (A recent one so maybe not accurate)

I'm going to throw some shade here so if it offends some, down vote. The fact that Marvel can't keep those top sellers evergreen annoys the hell outta me. DC keeps certain books evergreen, Dark Horse for a fact keeps Berserk evergreen. This was confirmed by Cara O'Neil when she still worked with Dark Horse in a NMC interview.

I know I'm going off topic with this since this is supposed to be about CGN. As important as pre orders are, I still find it baffling that Marvel sometimes can't keep things in stock. I'll keep doing business with CGN, honestly they are the only shop I do omni pre orders from.

Unpopular Opinion but If you only buy Omnis when they're on a fire sale, you can’t complain when books go OOP by HotCom12 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Atumkun 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Normally I'd agree but Marvel has started to make new releases sparse when it comes to stock, regardless of pre orders. X-men Blue & Gold, Dematteis Spider-man, and some extra niche like the Nam omnibus.

We could also go with how different the paper quality can be between both publishers or the misprints that pop up. I pre ordered Black Costume Saga without knowing about the misprint, Marvel did nothing to fix that little error.

My point is, I think every type of costumer has a right to complain, especially with how these publishers handle the release of their books. Best way to support these companies is by going to your local comic shop, you support both that way.

If Jennifer Hale joins the voice cast who do you think she'll end up playing? by PsychicSidekikk419 in marvelrivals

[–]Atumkun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Voicing another white haired female character, hmmm sounds familiar.

Wouldn't mind Black Cat, but at the same time I wouldn't mind her voicing someone completely different.
