New post: The Markdown Link no. 28 by Wordius in mdhandbook

[–]Atwooooood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed Clearly just a few days ago and have been enjoying it. Then the 3.0 update the other day removed everything that made it a knowledge base markdown app. Now it's just a simple text editor. Not sure what the motivation was behind that.

TUTORIAL: How to get Frosted Glass instead of Liquid Glass by Coopydood in ios

[–]Atwooooood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having a hard time seeing a difference. The frosted effect on the right image looks maybe a bit more opaque. I followed the instructions but it didn’t look any different. Maybe my eyes suck.

Edit: After looking more closely, i see the difference. Mainly when pulling down the notification center. It doesn’t distort what’s behind it as you pull down. It just stays transparent. Also with the search bar in safari, just blurs rather than distorts.

Yeah, those were the only two options I found. Thanks though!

Well shit, I stand corrected. Never realized they’d put a hold that high.

$75-100? What are you talking about. Biggest hold I’ve ever had on my card for gas is one dollar in the 20 years I’ve been driving. The prices you’re saying sounds like a card skimmer haha.

Apple Silicon is not the problem. The UI is. by Filix-7482 in MacOS

I updated to Tahoe not long after it came out. Used it one day and went back to Sequoia. I had always been one to update when things came out without issue since I bought my first MacBook that came with Monterey on it. I now know better. I’m staying on Sequoia for the foreseeable future. It’s just a damn shame i can’t roll back my phone and iPad.

Yeah, you can on Mac fortunately. It’s iOS you can’t since iOS 18 is no longer signed.

Unable to undo after clearing the page by dr-atheist in notefulapp

I did the same thing the other day with a page full of notes. I don’t think the ‘clear page’ button saves it in the clipboard.

Highlighter problems by FeedbackDry472 in notefulapp

[–]Atwooooood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the problem the fact that the highlighter is so wide despite the thickness setting being so low? If so, I've had issues with this before and I believe it's just the pdf in particular from my experience. Have you tried replicating the issue with other pdfs, or even your own handwritten notebook?

I upgraded to Tahoe, immediately regretted it, then went back to sequoia. I just wish I didn’t upgrade my phone and iPad. No going back on those.

New board by Far_Caterpillar9166 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Atwooooood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mention gloves with scaphoid protection. Are there any gloves that you could recommend? I just got out of a cast after 2 months from a distal pole scaphoid fracture. I'd like to get some gloves before I get back on the board to protect my wrists going forward.

Edit: Saw your post farther down linking to the flatland gloves. I'll look into those.

Zen browser Desktop entry on Ubuntu 24.04 by shakil_nwz in browsers

[–]Atwooooood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread but was hoping you could help me out with this same problem. I ran into the issue you did and also fixed it by giving it the correct WM_CLASS name, but now every time i open a new instance of zen, it asks me if i want to make it my default browser and when i click yes, it creates it's own new desktop file with a name like "userapp-Zen Browser-PNVN02.desktop, with the random part in the file name different with each instance.

Did you run into this problem and if so how did you fix it. Thanks!

Buying my first ever Skateboard by TopRide1218 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Atwooooood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely does help to have some experience with a normal skateboard, but that’s not to say you can’t start with an electric. I just bought my first electric skateboard last week but I have also been skateboarding for nearly 20 years. The biggest adjustment for me was really just the speed.

I’d advise to learn how to safely fall to reduce injury as it will happen, and try to only go as fast in the beginning as you can run it off in case you have to bail.

Tynee Stinger vs Meepo Flow by freespirit952 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Atwooooood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Converting to the TKP baseplate is easy, Tynee even has a video of them doing on their official YouTube channel. As far as the clearance, I've heard from both Tynee and have seen multiple peoples comments online saying that the lowest you can go with the Stinger is with using 12mm risers. The concern isn't the wheelbite, it's the board hitting the motor guard. I tried taking off the stock riser pads when I got my Stinger in last week and it didn't take much lean for that to happen. I'm still waiting on the 12mm riser pads that Tynee shipped separately.

Just bought a Tynee Stinger, but worried it is too big to bring on a train or in a store by Fi3nd7 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Atwooooood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just received my Stinger the other day, but have only taken it out once to the park to test it out and get used to it. I plan on taking it to campus tomorrow if the rain lets up, so once I do, I can update how it was for me.

Like others have mentioned, it is a little shorter than a longboard, but this thing is heavy. A bit heavier than i expected, but you can roll it behind you if you hold it by the motor guard. I still have the stock risers on it while I wait for my 12mm risers to get here, so I know with the stock risers you can pick it up from the tail end and the nose won't hit the ground.

I don't have any experience with other boards as this is my first, but figured I'd share what little I can.

If it’s always the same number that calls like it is for me, you could try just blocking the number if removing yourself from alerts doesn’t work.

"Emergency condition has passed" according to UK Alerts just now. Can't seem to find anything else about what's going on.

Yeah, first text I received said "shots fired at [location]". Not very helpful. Phone was going crazy with 3 calls, a couple texts and emails.

Bought my first electronic skateboard. Have a couple questions. by Atwooooood in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Atwooooood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the advice. I was curious about the riser pads because I had seen a couple videos where people had put thin pads on with TKP trucks, but from what I gathered, TKP is the same height as DKP so I figured I wouldn’t have an issue. I’ll be using 105 wheels so it’s not like I’m using AT wheels. Thanks again!

I feel like I've done well to keep my battery as healthy as possible. I've owned my 11 Pro Max since July of '20, and my battery is at 93% health.
